    So scraping from one of the API services is still better than trying to find a dump somewhere online I'm guessing, due to ROM compatibility...

    We don't support 3rd party images and selling preloaded RetroPie systems is against the project's license. Ask for support from the 'vendor' or install a RetroPie image from retropie.org.uk/download if you want support in this forum.

    @dankcushions Preferably everywhere, because there isn't a huge palm rest area. Having the top row as the main buttons would result in less cramped finger placement.

    Thanks for replying, I think I now have a remapping project ahead of me.

    The PIXEL desktop is available as a port in RetroPie-Setup. I couldn't tell you where though. I haven't used that menu in a while simply because to me, RetroPie is nearly perfect as-is.

    Thanks for the fps check.
    For the sound, It depends, for some 2D games, the sound is not that bad (not far from a good experience).
    In the Hash file , located in the BIOS/mame/hash folder , they commented slightly on the playability.
    Some games are not playables even on both emulators.
    I'm running Zool 2 or Bubsy at 49 FPS with Lr-Mess and 33 FPS with Lr- virtualjaguar (Big difference)

    @Ich-daddel said in Ist Retrode ein gutes Gerät ??:

    Hallo, ich möchte einen Youtube-Kanal eröffnenen dem ich viele aktuelle, aber auch alte Nintendo Spiele letsplayen werde. Da ich nicht will, dass die Kommentare voll mit :,,Das ist illegal !!!!'' sind, möchte ich die spiel selbst rippen. Nach langer Recherche (Eine Google suche XD) habe ich Retrode 2 gefunden, mit welchem man viele verschieden Spiele rippen kann, kurz und knapp, ich will wissen ob Retrode was taugt, das wärs auch schon, es wäre schön wenn jemand antwortet

    @mitu @Ich-daddel Translation:
    "Hello, I would like to start a youtube channel on which I'll play a lot of current but also older Nintendo games. Since I don't want ppl to spam comments like "That's illegal!", I want to rip the games myself. After some google search I found Retrode 2, with which you can rip many different kinds of games. TL;DR I'd like to know if Retrode is any good, I'd appreciate any answers."

    @Ich-daddel
    GER: Ich weiß nicht, ob die Spiele selbst zu rippen auch legal ist. Obwohl es okay sein sollte, solange die Spiele dir selbst gehören. Aber unabhängig davon, ist Nintendo nicht immer gegen Let's Plays von Nintendo-Spielen vorgegangen? Wegen Urheberrechte und so Video gesperrt. Oder wurde das mittlerweile wieder aufgelockert?
    Sonst noch was: Da wohl nicht immer jemand da sein wird, um deine Posts zu übersetzen, jag deinen Text einfach durch den Google-Übersetzer. Der ist ja mittlerweile gar nicht mehr so schlecht und es ist wohl besser zu kommunizieren, wie durch Sprach-Barrieren gar keine Antworten zu bekommen. :)

    ENG: I don't know if ripping the games yourself is legal. Though it should be okay as long as you do own these games. On the other hand, didn't Nintendo block let's-plays of Nintendo games because of copyright claims and such? Or did they loosen their policy?
    Another thing: You won't always have someone translate your posts, so just run your text through Google Translate. It's not as bad any more and that's still a better way to communicate than not getting any answers at all because of language barriers. :)

    @kikeminchas That's also because of the update - see this post. You can revert the audio to the previous settings by adding snd-bcm2835.enable_compat_alsa=1 to the /boot/cmdline.txt, or modify the .cfg settings file for EmulationStation (as a workaround).

    Please add your system's details, as explained in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

    A log file from the crash of the emulator - from /dev/shm/runcommand.log - would be helpful to diagnose the issue.

    Please don't post links to ROM sites - that's against the forum rules.

    As for your issue with the ROM - add some details about your system, as requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

    I took the command from the retropie.desktop application which was

    gnome-terminal --hidemenubar -e emulationstation

    Now it works smooth.
    Thanks!

    @mitu Hi, that's great info thanks. I presume that if it isn't writable, then pastern.com will allow me to change it?

    The weird thing is that it was working so well, and then for no reason it stopped. Also, it is allowing me to do the first edit (ie try another emulator) and seems to write it to the config file, but then won't let me further edit it. Its the same in every emulator - PS1, SNES etc. Got me confused!

    Will try what you suggest tho. Thanks again, appreciate it.

    Yes, the service is started. Now automounting works fine. However, I updated the main RetroPie script and reinstalled usbromservice.

    How are you changing the emulator configuration ?
    Since you're using the lr-atari800, there's a Core option that sets the machine type, when you change that option it should be automatically saved. Is this how you change the machine type ?
