You can modify /boot/config.txt and add the following:

hdmi_group=2 hdmi_mode=68

I get much faster boot times with my bluetooth (8bitdo) controllers turned off. Since that's an acceptable workaround for me, I haven't dug in to figure out what's wrong. My expected boot time is around 30 seconds on a 4. I'm only running retropie.

I analyzed the cable button with a tester and I found that also the blue cable also have 5v, I changed the cables changing the red by blue and is working fine.

I'll wait until the official version of Retropie for the Pi4 is released before I look into more lightgun games. They're less than 5% of my games anyway.

Did, by any chance, use rpi-update on your system ? What kernel version does your system have (run uname -a to find out ) ?

@sad_muso I would add, that it's better imho to edit the global file manually or via the RetroPie menu -> configuration editor (which has some of the settings but allows manual editing also)

Reason being that saving out from retroarch saves every possible setting. All config file "comments" will be lost, and it's a lot of config entries. It won't be easy to know what you have changed if you ever need to check.

But of course you can choose the method you prefer.

Both issues have been reported in the forums. For the 1. issue, you can use omxplayer instead of vlc (it's a VLC issue), for 2. there's an issue opened upstream (RetroArch), but there's no solution besides disabling the new style notifications (Menu Widgets).

No, there's no relation between the 2 things - that error message is from EmulationStation and it appears at start-up, but you don't see it unless you launch a game.

How reliable is your SDcard ? This kind of behavior (files disappearing) is usually an indication of bad/failing sdcard.

HDMI boot configuration is not available for the Pi4, as for the mode selection, you can just use raspi-config and select 1080p as default video mode.

@Ecks The problem existed for a limited timeframe and it was an external factor at stake - not in RetroPie. The fact that you didn't experience it means you didn't run the installation at that particular time.

The only way the Pi would have support if we were using like the Pi 10B+.

Hello, I would like to ask you a question, if you are so kind to help me, I have a Logitech driving force pro steering wheel, is it valid for Raspberry PI ?, I can't get it to work as it needs the Debian drivers in Linux to recognize the route of the strap.
