@Droid you should go to intellivision.us and get jzintv with the gui. No command line with the added gui. Far better compatibility. I only use nostalgia when i am comparing crc's for rom versions.

no m8...you were dead right.
I've switched to nachos ready made 128gb image and it uses different emulators for different games....
my 2 faves wonderboy and pac land use ir-mame2003 and the video has no tearing at all.
just need to swap the button setup and I'm all set....have tried every key on the keyboard and it doesnt seem to have a button to bring the menu up for swapping buttons around like advmame.

Good idea! I think your on to something - RetroPie emulating things TOO well - including slow down that's there on the actual console itself.

I experienced this first hand on a Pi 3 when I first started messing with them - but with Castlevania (1) on NES. Think it was the first boss which had bad slowdown. When I tried it on my NES console itself (on a glorious retro CRT TV ;) the SAME exact thing happened. Thus the emulation is emulating how the actual SNES (or NES) played that particular game - slowdown and all.

@Water-White Check in /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfgIs overlay_directory pointing to the correct place?
Looking at this there seem to be 2 paths to the borders... /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/overlays/borders and /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/overlay/borders
I use the second path, note the change of spelling from overlayS to overlay. Change it and see what happens.

@mikeh1982 Transferring the ROMs via USB is done automatically so there is no need to look at the directories, you don't need to manually move anything. If you use samba share over the network then the 4 directories are automatically shared to allow you to edit, transfer, delete, manage etc... Just as a tip, you can add extra folders / directories to be shared over the network. If you go to /etc/samba and open smb.conf you can add entries, eg

[home] comment = home path = "/home/pi" writeable = yes guest ok = yes create mask = 0644 directory mask = 0755 force user = pi

Or add any other path you want to access...

Did you wire your joystick properly? What kind of joystick and USB encoder do you have?
If buttons can be configured but joystick is not responding than probably joystick is not compatible with usb encoder (if you bought whole kit with encoder and joystick it's probably not possible) then you haven't wire whole setup properly.
But give us some more details or post some photos.

Also you need to install the following for code to work:
sudo apt-get install python-dev python-pip gcc
sudo apt-get install linux-headers-$(uname -r)
sudo pip install evdev

Note it worked without installing the header i.e 2nd satement

Then you can call it on start up via a cron such as:
@reboot python /home/pi/scripts/keyreboot.py &

Remember to give the file execution permisions

I'm thinking something more official linked on the downloads page. One of the main reasons this would be beneficial is by saving server bandwidth by letting fellow users help seed the torrents as well.

@backstander yeah it has 3 less puzzles. I beat it on dos several times but i didnt play through as many times as i did the 11th hour. Excellent sequel imo.

i saw someone copy a .cue file and change the name. I have not be able to do the same and been having the same issue with my psx. I need to find a .cue file first to give it a shot.

I don't have any idea what this might be. I use an iBuffalo SNES-style controller, and think it's great. No problems at all configuring the controller or using it with any of my games...
