    @moonston333

if so do i need to change anything in the gameslist xml or anything else so the art shows up from the hdd

The gamelist.xml file has the relative path to all the images (and videos). Depending on where you moved/copied the boxart from, you'll probably need to edit every image path in gamelist.xml.

If you use something in Windows like the Universal XML Scraper to get all the images and it makes an gamelist.xml file for you and you can use that in your retropie-mount/roms/snes.

There are other ways to accomplish this but I'm not sure what the best would be for your setup.

However, exophase will do whatever he wants regardless.

True, and we shouldn't go around walking on eggshells, but a consideration to his wishes regarding the beta certainly doesn't seem inappropriate.

No additional work has been done on the Pi version of DraStic since the Beta as far as I know.

That's tough to gauge. He maintains that his work there will resume when he gets time. Plus, we really don't know what's been done so far. DraStic is normally paid software on most platforms and I'm sure they get a higher priority.

Anyone been in contact with him?

He's remained quiet. There are a few others that have commented on the issue here as well.

@AlexMurphy Yes I ordered one from China over the weekend. Probably wont get here for 6 weeks :)

Although I'm find out from googling, there seems to be some quality issues with latest Mayflash products. And considering I purchased from the least expensive seller, I will probably get a dud.

If you were originally asking about how to make this edit, then the file in question is located at /opt/retropie/configs/all/autostart.sh. /boot/cmdline.txt is also referenced as well.

Resurrecting this topic as it appears to have never been full closed. I have posted this on the Ultimarc-linux GitHub site as well.

I would like to be able to reprogram my IPAC2 on the fly through before launching an emulator, and was hoping this program could do that for me. But I am having issues while trying to program a the IPAC2 via umtool.

sudo ./umtool ./ipac2_2015_default.json Loading ./ipac2_2015_default.json... [INFO] (ultimarc.c:53) Configuration is IPAC2. [Validated] [INFO] (ipac.c:373) Updating IPAC2 board... [ERROR] (common.c:68) Unable to claim interface. [INFO] (ultimarc.c:140) Board update failed.

    lsusb shows the IPAC as
    Bus 001 Device 006: ID d209:0420 Ultimarc

I have compiled umtool on a current Retropie image running on a Raspberry Pi 3, and have copied the 21-ultimarc.rules file to /etc/udev/rules.d, which results in the above error.

I also tried modifying the rules file with the group settings suggested in (https://github.com/katie-snow/Ultimarc-linux/issues/25), changing the IDs to match my device. Same error.

I'm no expert on udev and don't know how to troubleshoot any further. Has anyone been successful with this kind on setup in RetroPie? Any suggestions?

@DjGamer said in Joystick for MAME,Mapping not working!:

@dankcushions Thank you very much for your help.

I would appreciate if you have an idea how to map the coins button for the NeoGeo or the MAME emulator. because that controller I posted the picture, doesn't look like an NES controller. so a bit hard to map.

sorry if I am very dumb in this geek world. I am just trying to make it work for my kid.

i'm not sure if it helps but there's other examples of other controller types here: https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/RetroArch-Configuration#default-core-controls-for-all-emulators

Ok, so just to make sure I wasn't missing anything, I did the following...

Re-download and install RetroPie. Connect to WiFi and install updates. Download and install ControlBlock driver from RetroPie setup. Configured new controllers on startup.

After doing some more testing, I discovered that my conltrol settings responded the same for NES, SNES, and all lr-* arcade emulators. Anything using mame4all seems to be governed by different setting. So for the moment, I'll stick with libretro emulators.

Now, when I go in to RetroArch from the RetroPie setup menu and make changes to the button configurations, a few things happen. Setting buttons for Restart and Quit RetroArch requires that I set a button for Toggle Hotkeys. I'd prefer not to have to do that. Making those button changes also causes Select+Start in NES and SNES to stop quiting RetroArch.

I feel like I'm getting closer, but the hotkeys are still throwing me off.
    Any thoughts? Thanks.

    @AlexMurphy

I'll be honest the Sega Master System version of Rampage is really good.

It is indeed. I've also found that if you set

    sync_resample internal

in /opt/retropie/configs/mame-advmame/advmame.rc, then the audio tends to behave itself in AdvanceMAME. As a result, 'Rampage' runs really well for me there.

@r4mbleon I thought for some reason that was part of the autostart script but maybe it was something we discussed and never implemented. it was a while ago that we did it.

For now yes i think its something that can (should) be added to the manual installation page and/or the FAQ page.

also in case you want to have both the splash and the desktop environment you can use plymouth though its a tad (lot) more involved than switching out a png

    Hi @cineraphael

I would suggest you start a support request by completing the information requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first as you will be requested for this information anyway.

If you are overclocking your Pi, you need to let us know what you are doing. Maybe start by uploading your /boot/config.txt to pastebin. Also, how are you cooling your Pi?

there are also many guides throughout the mame community. at some point someone may feel ambitious enough to make a guide on the wiki
