Another option:
Logitech F310. (Wired, no rumble, Playstation style layout) $20 USD.
It may be wired but since it doesn't use 2.4GHz or Bluetooth, it just works well and is simple. Has a nice center button that is perfect for Hotkey use so you don't have to use the Select button.

Have you set the Country from raspi-config before configuring Wi-Fi ? If hubpiwi requires an additional Wi-Fi driver, then maybe you need to install it before configuring the Wi-Fi.

for NES my CRT likes
-240p screen format
-640x480 render resolution for the screen format
-717x552 (5 x -40 offset) retroarch scaling resolution
-bilinear filtering set to off

For SNES I use a 702x496 retroarch custom scaling resolution with a 12 x -8 offset and bilinear filtering on. Genesis looks pretty good with bilinear filtering on and standard 4:3 resolution

Try and turn up your mouse sensitivity ingame... also run "/cg_drawfps 1" in the console and make sure that you are running a solid 60fps. If the game is not running a solid 60fps this could be where your lag is coming from.

Which install script ? If you're referring to RetroArch, then try adding --enable-vulkan instead of --disable-vulkan in the build script to see if it works.

Okay, this is resolved now. Previously I had updated xpad from Source, this time I removed it entirely and then installed it from Source. This worked.

Should address https://github.com/libretro/flycast/issues/562 and related issues in the X11 version of RetroArch for multiple lightguns.

Yes, but you'd be having the same error - the install process will also download those packages.

Did you calibrate Kodi overscan within the app?

Btw are you outputting over hdmi and composite? Why do you have other mode configs in place?

If you can't resolve it, you would be better reporting on the raspberry pi forums where you may get the attention of a dev.

Maybe something changes with the composite modes. If the terminal is fine, then adjusting Kodi display should work. If the terminal is also out, you can adjust overscan in config.txt.

If you don't use overscan in config.txt you should disable overscan and remove overscan_scale

@ReadyPlayaWon I'll keep that in mind in future situations, but I've had a chance to confirm and the video volume isn't an issue when in HDMI mode. The issue is only with the headphone jack. I'll continue looking for a programming solution.

@DNVB It's an add-on package, it's not part of the RetroPie-Setup script and it wasn't maintained by the project. Sometime ago, the original repository was deleted and we created a copy for it under the RetroPie project, so that it wouldn't disappear completely.
