The customhisony driver is already installed or I have to install it?

You can also install it manually from the drivers section in RetroPie-Setup.

Ok, so I need customhisony and sixaxis (with third party support enabled) both active and installed, right?

@Joltron Cool. Thanks for digging this adapter up. Should be a safe bet, as the advertised chipset ASM1153E is a ASMedia. It has also a more compact form factor than the CSL I own and an USB-C adapter.

xpadneo is the right driver for the Bluetooth Xbox One controller, xpad should stay for the wired ones.

Make sure you remove any paired/detected devices in the Bluetooth menu and then re-attempt the pairing.

Looking at the dpkg output, looks like you have the latest versions for the Bluetooth related packages - so no issue here.

@razielus said in Bluetooth usb dongle not powered after reboot.:

Built From: Darish Zone Retro Machine 512GB

We don't support 3rd party images here in the forums.

Use the image from retropie.org.uk/download and run an full update (OS and RetroPie packages), then try again and see if the dongle is detected after reboot.

ok, i solved it myself. and here's the solution for all future "truth seekers" ;)

      i updated some packages:
      apt update #refresh catalog
      apt install bluetooth/oldstable bluez-firmware/oldstable bluez/oldstable pi-bluetooth
      reboot

afterwards, the pairing worked as easy as it should.

I would advise to install the xpadneo driver from RetroPie-Setup and re-pair (via bluetooth) the controller, followed by re-configuring it again in EmulationStation.

@mitu Sorry for the late response!

There were indeed no events when I tested with evtest.

I completely removed the keyboard again, rebooted and started Pixel. I again paired the keyboard, and made sure it worked in Pixel. Then I rebooted into ES again, again no keyboard..... some kind of weird inspiration made me go to the Retropie Config (you know, where the setup.sh is started) and, much to my surprise, I found that after a few button pushes the keyboard started working! I have no idea what went on and why it worked, because apart from opening setup I did nothing differently from the first time. After leaving the config I started evtest again (via the remote console) and actually this time around the events were showing up! The keyboard actually started to work!

Soooo happy now, as after adding the proper event source to the moonlight config I actually have full keyboard support there as well!!!

Thank you again for your help and patience @mitu !

      A couple of my favorites:

      Logitech F710
      https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Logitech-Controller/

      Nintendo Switch Pro Controller
      https://store.nintendo.com/pro-controller.html

The Logitech is pretty affordable, works right out of the box, and uses 2.4GHz wireless adapter so you don't have to mess with bluetooth pairing. Supports rumble.

The switch pro is more expensive, but the stick would be in a better position for N64 games. It does use bluetooth so it needs to be paired, but I had no trouble with getting it to work.
