@mydriaze Oh, the games still go in the megadrive folder, the platform.cfg file just changes the display and scrapping settings.

Oh, this is the txt you'd need in the platform.cfg file if you create it:

megadrive_theme="genesis"
megadrive_platform="genesis"
pcengine_theme="tg16"
pcengine_platform="tg16"

Then after creating that file and putting it in /opt/retropie/configs/all/ you need to update the TG and genesis cores, and you're good to go.

@flagrant99 I doubt it has anything to do with the 4.3 upgrade, I've seen the same behavior before and there are a few posts in the forum asking the same thing.
The symlink support in Samba - the application that's responsible for the file sharing - has changed a long time ago due to the https://www.samba.org/samba/news/symlink_attack.html .
If you want to enable it again, then you'll need to modify the configuration file just like it's described here - https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/5120/how-do-you-make-samba-follow-symlink-outside-the-shared-path .

Seems to be an upstream problem introduced by a recent commit https://github.com/libretro/Genesis-Plus-GX/commit/5454ba36dba5e8769d17047fec83695d2e7610f7.

@didier110 Hey, I had the same problem running Mega Bomberman.

I switched from lr-picodrive to lr-genesis-gx and all was fixed with that game. Since that, I've switched most of my sega to the lr-genesis-gx emulator.

I had to manually rewrite it.
It seems swapping the controllers caused it to automatically over write it.

Just a point of interest, Streets of Rage / Bare Knuckle isn't actually 2 ROMs but a single ROM that changes based on the language / country setting. It will even do this dynamically in some emulators and on real hardware if you have a country switch mod.

Load SOR and wait until the title sequence / back story start to play and once the story starts scrolling up, enter the GUI and change the language to Japanese and then exit the GUI. The story will continue to scroll and then change to Japanese after a few seconds.

@jdrassa I did an entire update to all even a kernel update to see if that would help out, but I'll have to check the build number to be positive. Also, I have the Kids Emulation Station build enabled as a safety measure. I don't know if that may have something to do with it.

The file will not be inside the zip. It will be in ~/RetroPie/megadrive (or Genesis).

@TMNTturtlguy I don't have a cabinet yet but I've thought about this on and off. I think you have a good compromise there, and swapping A and C might be a good experiment.

As for the select button, can you not map select to two impossible key presses (ie up+down) and solder a tiny button to the traces with diodes?

solved it! I just rebuilt the filesystem in another SD card and now everything is working.
Probably I have corrupted the configuration moving manually the images of the megadrive.

Good luck with the project, but you can fit everything in the case without removing ports from the Pi. I even (almost) fit a USB drive inside.

I mean, if you want to, you can, but it's not required for it to fit.
