@caver01 Well it was a lucky coincidence that I did the migration shortly after I read this thread. I wouldn't have done that only out of curiosity. :)

In case anyone else stumbles across this. The issue appears to be resolved with the latest update. I updated from source today and my mouse cursor is functional and visable now in lr-vice.

@joneill I don't know any other GUI except the Emulationstation frontend.
Are you referring to the RetroPie-Setup text GUI - accesible from the RetroPie system, running RetroPie-Setup ? It's used for configuration/updates/installations, but it's not the default GUI shown when the system boots up, it's only used when needed.

@jdrassa I did an entire update to all even a kernel update to see if that would help out, but I'll have to check the build number to be positive. Also, I have the Kids Emulation Station build enabled as a safety measure. I don't know if that may have something to do with it.

I have my roms on a NAS alogn with all of my other files, so when I download a new rom, i stick it on the Pi and the NAS, so my roms are all backed up, I dont care about that,

what I care to backup is the scraping which takes a bloody age to get done, I do not want to repeat that!

then I stick saved games over on the NAS as and when I decide I have any that I care about.

I prefer to spend my time playing though, I spent an hour last night watching the screen flash text while LR-Mame installed, only to find that the game ran slow :(

@mediamogul It works great for me too, I changed a long time ago. RGUI just offended my eyes. The only thing I had to do was add an icon for netplay that was missing on the retroactive icon theme I use. I couldn't bear to look at a black square where it should have been. I think personally that RGUI is used to keep the technophobes and noobs away from using it!

That's great thank you! thanks for the info.

I remapped the buttons and it worked fine but like you say, it kinda screws up the other settings for up,down,left,right....so....I've reverted back to up and down on the games list! thanks for the heads up tho, really appreciate it.

funny that i came to retropie forum to post the same thing, lemme explain what i am going through

i have just switched from ES to AM for these reasons...

easy to filter game by number of players or catagory (a win for me) custom favorite sub menus ( games to play with wife and kid menue and another to play with friends for example) easier to theme game display (getting the number of players and game description on screen is satisfying)

with that, i noticed that scraping usually a pain for these type of info (i believe the box art and video preview is easier to find at the moment)

my problem is i have not find a single rom manager to easy manage different type of system roms (on PC) that can pull info from the internet direct and save them directly to gamelist and romlist directly

i use to have the same problem years ago with my movie collection, till i found this app,
      https://www.mediacentermaster.com/

if anyone has a suggestion or willing to work on this, it will make alot of gamers happy

@mediamogul Ah! Thanks everyone for that info. I was also hoping to increase the buttons you have to press to RESET the game (instead of hotkey+b), but I guess that's not possible yet.

@Rad_Schuhart said in Im really desperate trying to save changes at retroarch.:

Im triying to customize controls in the diferent emulators, and I got it pressing Select + X while in the game.

If this is the only thing you wanna do, the best and simplest way to do it is through Core Input Remapping. And it doesn't need the config_save_on_exit enabled to work.

      https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/RetroArch-Configuration#core-input-remapping

The problem is that if you already enabled config_save_on_exit, probably your configs are messed. If you don't know how to recover the retroarch.cfg.rp-dist files, I suggest a fresh install and then using Core Input Remapping.

And, of course, searching the answers on the wiki always helps...

Jesus Christ, it seems that I got it!. Thanks for your help!

And yeah, trust me when I say that I've read the wiki, I've read a lot of forums and spent hours watching videotutorials in youtube. I was really desperate.
