      I did a power cycle/reset on my TV which seems to have fixed the issue. Im guessing my TV may have done an automatic update overnight which may have caused the issue in the first place.

      You are welcome. It's official but not stable. It's still unsupported in the forums so there could be hiccups here and there or even emulators not working at all.

      @quicksilver said in Can no longer select video mode after update:

      @psyke83 thanks it looks like it's working again. Something I've noticed in general though is that I have multiple listings for the same resolution/refresh rate. On previous pi models there were usually just the different CEA modes listed. Is this difference because of the different drivers/hardware that the pi 4 utilizes?

      Yes, we query the available modes via the kernel modesetting API, which doesn't distinguish between CEA or DMT modes. If you look carefully at the duplicates in your list, however, you'll see that there are differences beyond the resolution and refresh rate, such as the aspect ratio encoding, horizontal/vertical sync polarity, etc.

      Technically it's still possible to use tvservice for querying and changing modes on RPI4, but if you do change the mode, the underlying KMS framebuffer subsystem will not be aware of the change. This would mean that your monitor would be set to the correct mode, but the applications themselves would detect the framebuffer/refresh to still be set to the original resolution and thus show a cropped image, etc.

      @Darksavior ooh, sounds promising. I am waiting for a Pi model that can fully run MK2 and UMK3 at current emulation.

      Maybe even Killer Instinct? I am wondering what OpenGL on Pi4 does for games over what Pi3B+ does.

      @Gryphandor78 I'm struggling with the same issue. I went into mame menu using tab, and set the X+ X- Y+ Y-, the INC and DEC settings, and the trackball worked. I haven't been able to get it working without using mame settings instead of Retroarch. The trackball is a little sloppy dong this, and it has to be done for every game? Is this the way you did it? By moving the trackball in MAME UI to register the positions? Also, did you change any of the sensitivity?

      @BuZz Thank you. I made some edits to my post above to help prevent silliness. You are correct, it was psyke83 who suggested the change.

      Your directions above worked perfectly, as expected and I reverted all of the configuration changes. And scummVM also works as expected.

      Thank you for the commit, and for letting us play in your house while you and the team tidy-up the inevitable release.

      Did you ever get this working? I just came to realise that a mirrored monitor setup with 2 screens would be really handy for me on my Pi4 with Retropie.

      You can remove the USB drive as long as you don't need to read stuff from it.

      I don't have any issues with Dosbox using the dev branch on a PI4 - did you set any special resolution for it through the Runcommand launch menu ? I just installed it from scratch and it's using the default configuration file installed by the scriptmodule.

      Same thing with dosbox-sdl2 - it's working just after installed with the default configuration.

      @neilclayt RetroPie doesn't support running in a desktop (pixel) session on the Pi. Most likely this is the cause of your dosbox issue. You have to exit the desktop session and start EmulationStation from the console - or just have EmulationStation start up by default and install Pixel separately as a port - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/FAQ/#where-did-the-desktop-go.

      @fluffypillow thanks again for putting this together. For better or worse it has inspired me to start on a Pi4 build and hopefully learn a bit more about this stuff.

      And to the rest of the team keep on doing the amazing stuff that you do.

      @shavecat said in Raspberry PI4 Couple of Q ?....:

      "You can backup ROMs and configs and copy them back. It's not a long process really.

      "
      Will take a couple of good hours or more .....

      It depends on your setup and how you want to do it.
      -If you have a linux machine then you can just plug the sdcard into your computer and copy them over at USB 3.X speeds.
      -If you keep your roms/settings on an external usb drive (this is how I do it), then you can just unplug the usb stick/hdd/ssd and plug them into another computer to copy/backup.
      -If you are going over the network through something like WinSCP, then yes, that is painfully slow. Ethernet connections on both the pc and Pi make this a more tolerable experience.

      You can also follow this guide:

      https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Running-ROMs-from-a-USB-drive/

      This is meant to set you up to run roms externally, but it will also copy your entire Retropie folder to the usb drive. Then just unplug it after it is done and plug it into a computer to copy over. Just make sure to preformat the drive to be readable by whatever OS you plan on reading it.

      Hope this helps a little.

      Thank you @mitu

      That worked, I needed to throw in a --disable-x11 too:

      CFLAGS="-O2 -march=armv8-a+crc -mtune=cortex-a72 -mfpu=neon-fp-armv8 -mfloat-abi=hard -ftree-vectorize -funsafe-math-optimizations" ./configure --prefix=/opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch --disable-sdl --enable-sdl2 --disable-oss --disable-al --disable-jack --disable-qt --disable-pulse --enable-opengles --disable-videocore --disable-vulkan --disable-wayland --enable-kms --enable-egl --enable-floathard --enable-neon --disable-x11

      I may have got rid of the --prefix bit, I can't quite remember now.

      Appreciate the help.
