You can force a certain resolution on the screen, though depending on your version of RetroPie that option may not be available through the Raspi Config menu (as it was recently removed).
What kind of TV is that (model) ? Can you try setting it to Game Mode so it's not doing any image pre-processing ? I think it's i the Picture settings of the TV, under Picture style (?).

@Striderx99 I don't see the point in installing pulseaudio and then disabling it, but RetroPie will use the audio system you have configured in your system - you can install and configure PulseAudio using the Ubuntu package repositories, just like on any other Linux distro.

I used sudo passwd hiryu and it allowed me to reset the password as that user. I checked the credentials with Firezilla and was able to login and see the folders. As always, thanks for the quick response.

You can back-up your ROMs and configurations from the old system and then restore them on the new system via file shares - see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Updating-RetroPie/#backup-option-2.

Aww, i got it.
I first time when i installed Retropie on my Raspberry Pi4 i also installed Kodi on it. Everytime I quite EmulationStation, the terminal window flashes up on the screen and them reboots. It launches Kodi. like it should.

Now since that i had to re-do it all over, reinstall Retropie on to the SD card and then install Kodi once i got it setup on Raspberry Pi4. I finally got Roms setup on retropie after failing for the first time. Everything is looking good now, but here the question. Every time that i quite EmulationStation, the terminal windows comes up, having me to type in reboot, install of going on through and launch Kodi like it should.

It is, you just misunderstand what the number represents. Before you scroll, 71% of the list is visible on one page. The remaining 29% (to get to 100) requires you to scroll down. That is all.

because i don't have any pin attached to sd pin, but i have the same behavior: no audio, only pops and noise

@jamietuley my first question is if this a RetroPie build image or did this come from something else. Honestly, hissing is something I've never had an issue with with any of the 4 Pi3bs I own, nor was it a problem with my Pi2 before.

I don't know why you would have needed to alter any config file for the sound. It's better not to play around with any of the base configs and just use the menu to turn things on and off. You can try the Raspi-config menu and see if anything regarding sound is not active. But I think the Audio selection in the RetroPie setup does the same.

Anything above that is above my skill level. I've not experienced the issue you're having, nor did I have to play around with the config file to get anything to work. I used the menus only.

@KM_64 Gnome with Wayland seems to suck with Ubuntu 22.04. Any other Wayland environment does not show this problem.

Standalone Stella doesn't use the RetroArch configuration. Instead, open the Options menu of the emulation (once it starts) and use the Input Settings menu to map your joystick and the IPAC keys as you'd like.

EDIT: you can open the Options menu by using the Tab key on your keyboard.

@mitu I found solution, i just deleted previous settings and i mapped to Home button to exit. You can close this topic.

@mitu Oh understood on that front. As I mentioned above, I made a back up IMG file before wiping the retropie and reinstalling. I am just trying to figure out how I can access the ROMs on there. Because I think they are still there - the IMG file is 250GB...I just couldnt use it to actually install retropie because when I tried, I was running into these issues. Thats why I went down the path of a fresh install and trying to reaccess the ROMs in the backup file.

Didn't realize that each USB port would have a priority, I thought it was assigned from Emulation Station. Moved the USB cords around, and now I'm back up and running.

No, it should be

I don't think your game is installed as a port - you should have the emulators.cfg in /opt/retropie/configs/ports/sonic3air and the /home/pi/RetroPie/ports/sonic3air.sh should contain:

"/opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh" 0 _PORT_ "sonic3air"

No glitches or artifacts on any of the opening screens or movie.

I had test a little the lr-scummvm 2.6.1, it looks slower from standalone. I tried the games Longest Journey, Kathy Rain, Phatasmagoria that are working fine in RPi3 but they have slowdowns in libretro variant. I have some slowdowns and in RPi4.
