@DedHead Arcade Database Mazer Blazer lists the rom as status: preliminary for current mame and last changes where for mame 0.190 - so unsure wether or when it may became promoted to good.

You should get the latest libretro core nightly, which again has some delay from the standalone nightly. I usually sync it only 2-3 times a week, except when i have a good reason to not do so.

Not sure, i only learnt about this old bug while checking if the game had many dump revision. Furthermore i only played it in FinalBurn which i think never suffered from this.

The train is mentioned in that commit, so i'd suppose it might be affected by this problem.

Your version is over 6 months old, so no doubt there will be romset updates/additions (we probably added over a dozen of new systems since then), neogeo cd won't be a problem though.

OK I managed to find a 1.0.0 FB Neo romset, updated FB Neo from source in retropie. As you said my romset is not 100% exact match with the current DAT from github but a lot of the missing or incorrect roms are Hacks, or homebrews etc. I don't really care about them. Works very well for now :)

Run this from any platform folder on the RetroPie:

cat gamelist.xml | grep '<name>' | cut -d '>' -f2 | cut -d '<' -f1 > titles.txt

It will export all titles to titles.txt

@mrnoholster yes. just launch the other version. note, if you're using a split romset you will need to include the parent rom (typically the one without a revision in the file name) in the same directory for dependencies to be met. if you're using a non-merged romset it won't matter - each rom is standalone and should launch.

@zodiark12 here's the sha1 and crc checks 2003+ is expecting. https://github.com/libretro/mame2003-plus-libretro/blob/f7e53fda8195ae9d9a2b33c1dbed27e7410a41ff/src/drivers/neogeo.c#L1574-L1589

You can compare the ones you have to these and double check your naming conversation. Make sure you done have ".rom.rom" or something like that either. Some desktops hide extensions. My guess is the check sum is off here for it not to include the file.

@ericmartin this pretty much only applies to mame and FBNeo. Arcade games mostly. Those 2 have a sort of database that knows what version of rom that it needs to run. Older roms may have been dumped with mild bugs, that may or may not run 100%. Over time, games have been dumped using better Methods and the arcade emulators update their code to only run the better dump and abandon the old.
if you are trying to use other emulators, like Nintendo, sega, etc. they don’t have any checks. You don’t have to worry about romsets there. They will just try to run whatever it is given. Good dump, bad dump, doesn’t matter. Bugs and all.

there is also another one cant find it...

In RetroPie, the NeoGeo system is separate, so you can copy the NeoGeo romset collection to the neogeo folder and the arcade only romset to arcade.
You can combine them if you want, but you might want to keep neogeo separate just in case you'd want a different configuration applied to it (see this post for an example of why you'd want that).
