I had all sorts of issues with the ds4 using ds4drv, it caused the pi to overheat, but I didnt have any lag,
either way, I purchased the usb dongle for the ds4 and the problem was instantly gone.
for 20USD i would reccomend you dont waste your time, and just buy the dongle.

I tested this out by building from source, and yes, it is definitely an improvement. Since the font is taller than it is wide, though, the percentages could probably be manually tweaked even further... I may get set up for dev and mess about.

and it seems this was fixed already, it reads the user-mapping from Retroarch config! My system is just too old, 4.1, I will upgrade and test again.

not sure if you ever got an answer but i've been playing with this recently. change the SID emulation to the SID (fast) and then it goes like a rocket. if using a pi 1 or zero I'd also advise turning off the scanlines. I get 50fps on a pi zero with no sound issues. I get about 37fps with the scanlines and as you describe only a few fps with the default SID settings

@hurricanefan No...or...I guess I should say...not from within retropie...but your best solution for your woes is probably using sselphs scraper to do batch scraping. I'm not going to tell you how many Arcade roms I have, but the sselphs scraper automatically identified and added images and data for all but 10% of the roms...so maybe 10 roms out of 100 wouldn't identify using this method...with the arcade. On the other hand, sselphs only recognized about 40% of the Genesis roms I have, so...it can be hit and miss too. Anyway, it is not really hard to access this scraper. Follow the tutorial here:

Yes. I still use and prefer the xmb driver, but I'm less inclined to think it's suitable as a default due to the fact that it breaks RetroArch if you're using the dispmanx driver. I have no use for dispmanx, but that would be a headache for anybody that does.

@milesacul Sorry if this topic is becoming spam. Got some progress. If there is no defined install_bin_$id function, you use wget --spider -q "$__binary_url/${__mod_type[$idx]}/${__mod_id[$idx]}.tar.gz" to try to pull the binary. For now, I will check if the file exists with the same method and maybe work a better solution into RetroPie shell scripts afterward.

You don't need a keyboard to access the Retropie-Setup script. You can manage packages through ssh.

cd RetroPie-Setup/ sudo ./retropie_setup.sh

Ahhh yes, I've been hoping for rotation and have been doing it manually. Maybe now ill just use some svgs and throw the rotation at them XD.

Another option is you could play Pokemon ultra violet which is a rom hack that combines fire red and leaf green into one game which allows you to catch every Pokemon. However I agree this feature being added in would be nice.
