Nevermind, I got it working. You have to choose the fbalpha neocd option before loading. Also, it looks like it doesn't have chd support and no cd music..which was the point of using this. Thanks anyways. Back to lr-mess.

By the way, I always wondered why those restrictor rings can't be moved more smoothly.

I think the answer to that is a result of the industry we are building from. Back in the day it was good to have joysticks configurable so they apply to more game types but they were expected to be used in one configuration in the cabinet

I think you have a point there. Even in today's retro gaming community, cabinets that are dedicated to specific controls are not uncommon.

I wouldn't be surprised (or mind that much) if someone started producing new plates based on the above modification. I briefly thought about it but decided that the other overhead items that I would need to put in place first over rode any profit I might make on such a small item.

Also, the existing plates are most likely patented, so you would have have to design a new plate from scratch, get permission from the patent holders, or risk being sued.

I was also thinking of no more RPGs as a guideline.

    What do y'all think?

I spent a lot of time at Gameworks in Vegas as a kid and it was a pretty awesome arcade with 100s of games and a sweet deal for unlimited play by the hour. I think it was $10/hr, but were talking almost 20 years ago now...

A buddy of mine who still lives there told me a a while back that the original Gameworks closed, but i just looked it up and its now at town square still on las vegas boulevard, but at the 215 instead of downtown. It never made sense to me as a kid to have to walk past drunken debauchery to get to a freaking arcade, but at least its moved since.

Also i live an hour from Santa Cruz now and i dont recall at least on my last visit the arcade being anything special. Theres a couple old rather crappy games available, but if I were to do anything in that "arcade" it would be minigolf. Youll see it if you stop by and dont forget to ride the roller coaster!

@zerojay hiya, sorry to bring up such an old post, i am desperate for some help getting the .sh files in pc ports menu to play now the script has run its course fully (yes the metadata shows and everything is bang on the right place, yet running the games from menu kicks back to menu screen. You mention here about a part of the script capitalising the +dosbox.sh script which stops anything running - i think this is my problem, could you explain a fix for this pretty please with sugar on top? thanks bud.

That kind gets me thinking, someone needs to write a Raspberry Pi emulator now. :-D

It already exists, but emulating a video card is not included, so there's little use for RetroPie experimentation.
There's nothing stopping you from using RetroPie in an x86 PC (virtual or not), it's the same software that's installed on both the PC and the Pi, it's only the platform specific configuration and hardware capabilities that are different.
But if you intend to use a Pi, just get one and start experimenting. It's not a big investment (ok, it might be for some) and you already have the controllers and the TV/Monitor.

Ya there was another one i saw from the same seller it was 70$ for a 128gb card with the same files and the only person that reviewed it said it was like shoved in an envelope with no protection what so ever and the guy even sent the wrong version but also why are people giving people like that money for something you can easily do and really if the person says they don't have a pc or something they can always use a friends system to build up the files.

I'm calling that Mother 3 will be announced at this year's E3. Considering how insane a normal Nintendo Direct was. Our wildest dreams will be realized.

Well, I guess that didn't happen. That's expected at this point.

@edmaul69 All games I wanted in my list did work, so Wrecking Crew. It works for both, Mame2003 and the NES version. You should try this again.

@ranma N64 controllers feel awful imo and the analog sticks are garbage. Really the only thing that doesn't translate to a modern controller is the c buttons, it's a little awkward having them mapped to the right analog.

@jamesnj Yes, I nice blob of epoxy would take care of that switch really quick. Just make sure it is ON when you do that!
