I know for my Wii U controller, I couldn't get RetroArch hotkey shortcuts to work as I wanted until I went into the config file and manually added the start button as the "exit" button. But it took me awhile at first to understand how the hotkeys worked (didn't know what hotkey option meant when I set up the controller in emulation station because it didn't do that in my Reys image).

    Hi @herb_fargus

    Thanks for the reply

Tried that and it worked, but it was left orientated and i couldn't find any way to change the viewport. And it reset on restart.

    Kind Regards
    Toke

Update: Installed the newest firmware for the controllers (4.0), whereas apparently I was previously on 2.65 or something like that.

One controller works and the bug even seems to be fixed.

The other controller now won't connect to Retropie at all.

Edit: Took me like an hour of fiddling but both controllers now connect properly and the save state bug is gone! Had a devil of a time getting Retropie to let me register and connect both pads at once for some reason.

Thanks for the suggestion to update the firmware, I had completely forgotten that I had done it when I first got the pads and I honestly wouldn't have thought a small Hong Kong company like 8BitDo would keep working on new firmware updates for so long - pleasantly surprised to be wrong. At least in the end the fix turned out to be relatively simple!

@cyperghost In terms of speed, you won't notice the differences on a pi3, but a non-oc'd pi2, mame2003 got slowdowns and fba did not. I use lr-fbalpha for both my pi2 and pi3. As it was already pointed out, you need a different romset for lr-fbalpha. Mame2003 and fba2012's cps2 romsets will NOT work in lr-fbalpha. There was a change in the roms where it requires key files to decrypt the games now. More info on what version of romsets each emu requires https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/FinalBurn-Alpha

Notice that there's capital letters in the directory. The "P" in RetroPie-Setup always gets me.

I solved the problem myself after doing alot of research. I found a 12 v power supply with a molex connector and a set of daisy chain wires that can power of molex and light the leds.

    @Afunnyname

Greetings and salutations. The problems you're having can stem from several things. To discover what those things might be, we need more information from you. The required information can be found at https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

Right up front, I'll say that you must have the correct ROM version of 'Marvel vs. Capcom 2' for the version of MAME that you're using. Assuming that you're using lr-mame2003, which uses the 0.78 MAME ROM set, you'll need to acquire the 'Marvel vs. Capcom 2' ROM from that numbered set. More information can be found here.

I picked up one of these cables from a Goodwill for $0.50 but I couldn't get it to work on my older 32" 720p HDTV. I guess I should note that I have an RCA switch box that I was running through (so I can switch between my Blu-ray player, Wii, GameCube or PSX on that TV). There's probably something I needed to put in /boot/config.txt. I didn't really try very hard because it already works great with my HDMI cable.

SOLVED! I figured it out, it was exactly what I thought it was, my own issue and I am a dumbass. Since the config was saying "no config found for virtual bou" I knew there had to be a typo somewhere. I checked the configs the other day and didn't see a typo, BUT it was on the command line of the code that I couldn't see (it is too long) because I couldn't scroll with my controller, I plugged in my keyboard and when I scrolled over on the command line and sure enough I had typed in "virtual bou" since "y" is next to "u" that was my bad. I corrected the letter, restarted ES and boom good to go!

ok for mods/admins to mark this as SOLVED if needed, this was totally my issue! I guess for others with future reference if it says "no config found for <system>" check the command line and SCROLL OVER to see what you typed. I'm truly an idiot!

Disk drill can help to restore deletes images. For instance, with it help I recover deleted photos on my mac. With step-by-step instruction it's easy to do even for me :)

  • Running retroarch on raspbian pixel?

Ok. So I found a way to install pixel along side retro pie (I'm on a phone and can't find the link).
Basically what it does is close pixel and run emulation station. Once you are don it will automatically boot pixel again.
In this scenario, will my plex service still run in the background all the time?

    Thanks
