okay, so i went inside and removed the USB hub and tried running straight to the adapter to the zero and still get the same issue. Controller vibrates and no lights.

if you use the arcade folder i think it's either in /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/mame2003/cfg/ or /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/mame2003/nvram/ - probably the former if it was set via the MAME ui.

but, to avoid doubt i would back up everything in /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/mame2003/, as you probably want the stuff in the other folders anyway.

That is strange. You can always try attaching the WiFi adapter to another machine to see if you get the same level of instability. You can also check the adapter against this list to see if there are any known issues.

@g0nz0uk some bluetooth controllers has different numbers than those returned by jstest. But it still is the best tool I know to get the numbers...

It works with what I tried.

Alright, I've decided to buy a Pi3 Kit and go with it, since it comes with all those built in functionalities. Thanks for the fast replies!

After upgrading to the new version of vice I have got a similar problem.
It seems the joystick mapping file does not load on startup anymore.
I have to go to the menu and load the joystick mapping manually in order to get my joystick mapping working again.

Does anybody know how to auto-load the joystick mapping on startup? With the prior verion of vice I had not this problem...

OK I will check that out.
It seems if I assign a direction, it would assign that... and not get it backwards.
