All right, I went into there and removed the line referring to "reset" from that file and saved it, but the SELECT button still resets the game. Also I still can not gain acess to the options menu through the joypad or keyboard, but only for the N64 emu.

Version 4.1.1 (grabbed it from github with manual install on raspbian). RPi model B.
Yeah, tried both removing and reinstalling. No luck with that. Maybe github version of the driver is a bit outdated..? product and vendor ID's are correct, but something is just not working with 4.4 kernel.

@backstander just to make sure we're not having miscommunication, you're using multiple controllers at once? The hid quirk seemed to have no affect....

I ended up wiping the micro sd card and reinstalling everyone from a different computer (just in case), and i still have the same issue..... The dev Gods must hate me! :(

You might try testing with a different HDMI cable.

When you plug the Raspberry Pi directly into the TV does it have sound?

You can open up the audio mixer by typing alsamixer from the command line and make sure the volumes are up.

Do you have a 3.5mm cable you can test with? Plug that from the Pi's headphone out into the Input port on the Avermedia LGP and see if you have audio? If not type in this from the command line when you SSH into your Raspberry Pi amixer cset numid=3 1 and then test the audio again.

You can force it to HDMI audio out by typing amixer cset numid=3 2 from the command line.

Another solution is updating the firmware for your Avermedia LGP and trying again.

You need to Install Samba/USB/Send over Rom's via Card. I personally like the samba share and use the IP of the machine to send over ROM's
Log into your PC with the roms
//IPADRESS/

Go to the rom folder and copy and paste over the roms to correct location is it VERY Simple.

You will not see any games unless you load over the roms, the guides above are perfect this gets asked so much.

As you load the roms for each games they will show up after a reboot

Tried Installed Ubuntu Xbox plugged in USB drive

I can configure it, I can get the xbox 360 controller working in the emulation station menu and select games ect. I am unable to get the controller to work with any game it doesn't detect it

I have tired the Xdrv driver
Ubuntu Drivers
I can use the controller on the OS no isses
Just doesn't load up in games? Is there an easy way to add this? Would love to find a fix and update this on the wiki as well

Yeah, I'd pull the SD card out completely and try to boot. You can then check the status lights.

@hellska It probably depends on what else you have attached to you RPi, but the specs for RPi3 say 2.5A is recommended.

Your issue reminds me the behavior of my RPi1 with an external Wifi dongle. I never confirmed it was caused by insufficient power, but the fact was I had a poor 1.5A power supply back then. Using scp (which is consuming bit of CPU btw) was causing my Wifi to disconnect many times.
