Try reinstalling "retropiemenu" from the setup utility under manage packages > core packages.

Sometimes it's just easier to rename the file. Steam and GOG releases have lowercase names for .grp files, so most of installations would be covered.

ok, i solved it myself. and here's the solution for all future "truth seekers" ;)

i updated some packages:
apt update #refresh catalog
apt install bluetooth/oldstable bluez-firmware/oldstable bluez/oldstable pi-bluetooth
reboot

afterwards, the pairing worked as easy as it should.

I've got an 8gb wd usb external plugged into my pi4 (libreelec) and it works fine.

However I also created the partitions and formatted it from the raspi4 using buster and gparted.

No experience w Mac's

Include the name of the game/emulator that have this issue. Does it happen for all games or it's just for some of them ?

@luzer I am in this exact situation, did you manage to solve it?

Maybe then something is missing from my game data or something in my setup isn't correct.

The filename's extension is important since this is how udev recognizes it as a configuration file. The name itself doesn't matter, as long as it's in the right folder and having the correct extension.

What error are you getting when you're trying to create the file ?
