      @hairdyeguy said in Is it possible to save multiple wifi networks on retropie?:

      Just to be clear, when you said boot partition, you meant the extra "drive" that appears on windows and can be accessed on windows, not the folder inside retropie, right?

      Yes, that one.

      @soren , that's great that it works! Your post made me think of another post where someone said that they have spent more time installing the Raspberry pi than actually playing on it. It was quite the hassle to make it work but well I guess that's life, what is good usually takes some effort. Again, I am glad it now works for you =)

      @FlashFlood2864 That's good news. Your welcome. If you get any problems with your wifi connection in the near future, you can try changing the wifi channel in your Router's administration.

      Being on a wifi channel chosen by your Router is not always feasible and could decrease the wifi's signal if there are too many wifi network's using the same wifi channel. The Router might have a built-in wifi channel tester. :-)

      @Otter22 The Wifi is not setup from Emulationstation, but via the RetroPie-Setup. You should have a WiFi menu entry in the RetroPie system in Emulationstation - just like it's described in the Docs.

      The strange thing is I'm not entirely sure.

      You can show your Pi's model and revision with this command:

      cat /proc/device-tree/model

      (Just trying to fill the forum with useful information. 😌 )

      @melbmatt50 said in Retropie issues with WiFi setup and Scraper:

      Now during startup it asks for a login and password which I would rather it didn't so I want to disable that.

      It's enough to login once - after the upgrade - and re-configure auto-login using sudo raspi-config. Unfortunately that's part of Raspbian and it's not under RetroPie's control. See this topic for solutions to this problem.

      Secondly I got a 64gb sd card so I could load more stuff on it but etcher won't verify it after burning the image to it and I get the following message during installation on my raspberry pi 3 model b+ Kernel panic-not syncing: VFS: unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(179,2). If you can help me I would be grateful. Its a sandisk ultra 64gb class 10 card.

      The error seems to indicate badly/imcomplete written image. If the verification doesn't work, maybe the SD card is faulty ?

      A little update about this situation.

      I've contacted my ISP and i can't seem to switch out the modem. They sent me some firmware updates, which also didn't help. The solution they offered me was, buying an external WiFi adapter or hookup a router to the modem. Both options are out of the question for me.

      But now something I can't put my head around. As said previously most of times i get speed under 1 Mbit/s, but as soon I transfer files over to the pi by SFTP i get much better speeds (atleast 5 Mbit/s stable). This proves there is nothing wrong with the signal or antenna in my case.

      @mitu
      Note for WiFi on the new Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+:

      WiiFi is disabled until wireless regulatory domain is set (Pi 3 B+ only)

      The domain can be done through 'Raspberry Pi Configuration' (rc_gui),
      'raspi-config' or by setting 'country=' to an appropriate ISO 3166
      alpha2 country code in /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf.

      US= United States
      GB= UK

      Example by another user of what it should look like (with GB country code)

      country=GB
      ctrl_interface=DIR=/var/run/wpa_supplicant GROUP=netdev
      update_config=1

      network={
      ssid="myssid"
      psk="mywifipassword"
      }

      @pjft MACs aren't my thing, I leave them to the GF and the young wan. Everyone I see talks about dd In fact I saw etcher get ripped to shreds on reddit by people criticising them for just over-complicating dd. Saying that, I do like a nice GUI and I have no issues with it. Straight into a zip? You could ask them to add it. They seem like they are willing to help.
