And in the meantime I've tried just about every possible setting in lr-yabasanshiro and Nights is still choppy. It's not far from being playable, but it's not playable currently (much like Panzer Dragoon Saga).

retroarch supports it as a graphics driver but it's used for simple blitting to the screen, so no perceivable advantage in 2d emulators. another side effect is that the usual GLSL shaders we use will not work with vulkan - you have to use SLANG ones.

3d cores and standalone emulators may have vulkan implementations, which would take advantage of the new speed/features. lr-parallel would be a fun experiment (though i expect not viable at all). duckstation, beetle-psx, flycast, ppsspp, and dolphin are potentially viable ones that i can think of.

another issue is, does the vulkan driver still need X? that's not ideal.

Skyscraper cache folder is in $HOME/.skyscraper/cache, this is where downloaded media/artwork is primarily stored and used to generate the gamelists.

i don't use anymore driver xboxdrv because after installation of retropie image, xbox pad works without install it from retropie setup menu, so i think not necessary for me to go in setup menu and install package

@mitu Thanks, now I use lr-mgba launch the gba rom. It works fine.

@MRKane You may be surprised. Some PSP games run great at twice the resolution, effectively making them look better than they did on original hardware. Besides you gotta love the jagginess ^^

But honestly, most of the emulators are pretty much ready to go but you can spend days and days getting everything exactly to your liking-overlays, shaders, tweaking the gamelists, modifying themes, making custom collections...

Which reminds me, I need to get back to tweaking my Pi4 build...

You could leverage the onstart/onend scripts for runcommand to switch dynamically the joypad indexes when 2 gamepads are detected. Something similar to https://github.com/meleu/RetroPie-joystick-selection.

Made it working by launching manually, seems like at boot is too soon.

So now I have two controllers, the DS3 in slot 1 and virtual x360 in slot two.
It's not a problem in retroarch but in steam link I have the two controllers. Is it possible to deactivate the DS3?
Or I change for moonlight

That'll make the virtual disk drive 1024mb so you can install fallout

@edmaul69 I recently bought a controller with the same label, but this it is not pairing at all.
When I connect it, it does not vibrates at all, and only the first light flashes. Thats odd.
Any idea of how to pair and register this controller?

I have two shanwan clones and they work fine with the driver.
I also tried to pair this new one with original drivers, and all of the package but with no luck (actually I bougth 2 controllers and have the same behavior).

Inside the es_input I notice:
Playstation(R)3 controoler (an original ps3 controller)
SHANWAN PS3 GamePad (for the shanwan clone)
PS3 Controller (for this one)

Any ideas?

Did you configure the controller via Emulation Station correctly? Maybe do it again to be sure. There's a script to assign controllers to players. It works very well for me. Maybe it's worth a try for you.

You will need to install the optional packages that don't come standard on the image.

Good Grief.....in the end I used the PS3 driver and what made ti work was, just after registering the device a window pops up saying you can now unplug your cable.

At this point, I unplugged and paired the controller and THEN with the keyboard moved back to the main menu to configure it.

Trying to pair the device at ANY other point during the process and it doesnt like it.

Have rebooted and the device still conect and works so it seems stable :D
