ok did not know that there was 2 cases
i got this version + (nespi +) so for me all reset + safe on/off work
is it possible just to remove this two buttons and run them on long cables mount them on front ?
They got 6 pins on each buttons so i have to get 6 cables for each button? or some of them are dummy connections ?

Yes, the drivers you installed work with X.org.

Ideally, what I'd like to do is to install only a terminal, apt-get only what I need and autoboot into ES on boot.

The RetroPie installation script should already do that - auto-login via the current DM and starting Emulationstation into an X.org session.

Not without X.org at the moment.

@mitu I purchased a a four player arcade cabinet set to the original Ninja Turtles four player set up. A joystick and two buttons for each player plus a credit button for each. Honestly I'm very new to this and I'm learning little by little

I can't see in the images well enough to know exactly where they are, but those encoders look a lot like the ones I got. My encoders had two sets of plugs for the joystick - one the 5 pin white cable you're using, and the other used 4 of those 2-pin plugs. They should be labelled as such. If you have anything in the 2-pin dedicated joystick plugs, you need to move them to another plug. That will cause interference of the signal.

^Someone posted this for me and it was the solution. I put the led connector in the left joystick input connector. Thanks for the help man

Yes. Some games you can manipulate by changing setting to 2 coins/1 credit if the game in question has that option, some do not. I have tried re-installing mame 2010/ 2003 but same outcome. Will probably do a fresh install now that the pi-4 is out anyway. Thanks for your input.

They're not enabled for the ODROID, only for the RPI/PC. If you wish to test them, you need to remove the !mali flag from the scriptmodules' rp_flags and re-run the setup script to appear
