@KLAJD Did you enable the Kiosk UI mode from EmulationStation's menu ?

as far as i recall the shader preset includes bilinear on/off, so you should not touch it and let the preset decide

Regarding your issue, it looks like the disc is not fully mounted when EmulationStation starts and the folders are not available. Depending on how large the disc is, this can take a few seconds. Edit the autostart script in /opt/retropie/configs/all and insert a delay before EmulationStation starts:

sleep 5 emulationstation #auto

You can adjust the delay (in seconds), depending on how much time it's needed before EmulationStation starts.

Thank you for responding so quickly to my question(s). The menu with the dots only gave me the option to delete the post before when I checked it but now gives me edit options. I'm not sure why, hopefully that was just a glitch.
As for the ES start delay idea, I'm about to call it a night but will try this tomorrow and let you know if it takes care of the problem.

Which config file. You've not provided much info. Please post details of what you edited in which files and post the configs via a pastebin site. And give details of setup as detailed in first link.

Had a quick read through of the log myself after posting it. I noticed I didn't actually have a bios file to boot to. Bios file copied, problem solved.

How exactly isn't it working? Are there any messages? Did you enter the command correctly letter-by-letter?

Can you uncompress a single ecm file with ecm-uncompress followed by the file's name?

@challenger2010 I haven't tinkered too much with software yet on my build. I was more interested in getting everything working first. The deadzone issue was probably the most important for me. I would like my cabinet to boot into Star Wars bypassing EmulationStation. I have the code to do this but haven't got around to trying it out yet. I'll definitely have a look at misc_safequit no for a clean exit as well.

Yes all over covers are great it's very unusual.

It doesn't matter its only just the one cover it was 2 previously the other one seemed to get fixed by deleting the entry in gamelist and making it again but same thing not working with this one.

It shows correct in a different gamelist view which is strange.

PS similar behaviour happens when I goto add a game to favourites I see the artwork squashed but it goes back to normal straight after

One of those forehead slap moments. I was trying to think about what might be different between the setups (except for about 3 years of RetroPie development) when I realised the cable/wifi thing.

I'm glad I worked it out, because my next option was to undo the NAS and put everything on the micro-sd, but the one I'm using isn't big enough, so I'd have to get a bigger one and go through the hassle of moving everything over, etc. Glad I don't have to do that.

No, that's different.

I prefer the remapping using the command line because i can simple backup the files.

The remaps files are simple text files, with the .rmp extension. They can be easily backed-up/restored.

@DRB Which folder did you use on a PC installation of RetroArch ?
