I already did it, i downloaded the wrong compiler in the CYGWIN, not the GCC-CORE.
I extract all the files and converted them into png, but the Project64 cannot load the textures, but other textures the plugin GlideN64 can load without problems.

Thanks for the tip. I tried this, but it didn't seem to help.

Could booting to Kodi contribute to this issue?

wow. I can't believe I didn't reconfigure the joypad in ES afterwards. What an obvious thing to try. I just assumed I was modding the .cfg from the menu. All is working now. Thanks for the assistance!

@dhlee20 said in How to load Retropie games in full screen with no black parts...:

I bought a 2.8 inch 320x240 PiTFT display for the PiGRRL 2 project from Adafruit.

When I load GBA games in Retropie, there are about 5mm of distance from the end of the screen in both sides.

Can you guys tell me how to load the game in full screen? (whole screen with no black parts)

    <config.txt settings>

    #framebuffer_width=320
    #framebuffer_height=240

    #sdtv_mode=2
    #sdtv_aspect=3

    0_1476526536538_그림1.png

Remove the # symbol from config.txt in these lines:

    #framebuffer_width=320
    #framebuffer_height=240

    See if that helps.

It would be wise to include information in the post as well as using tags - eg copying the template from the read me first topic, and filling out the details.

Did you initially configure the keyboard or controller on Emulation Station ? you mentioned Ports - is it a particular game not working, or are you unable to navigate at all in the menu ?

You can try a fresh image also, in case it is related to some sdcard corruption. Might be easier than trying to debug this.

You can mark this SOLVED! I remembered I was following another site's suggestion on creating ".SH" files to automatically launch games in DOSBox without having to manually type the commands. Along the way, I had modified the es_systems.cfg file to give it an entry so it would show as an emulator because it wasn't coming up after installing DOSBox.

It turns out, there's more than one es_systems.cfg file. The one I posted above was in the ETC path. I found another one under /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/

When I opened it up, I guess I had somehow split the line:

    <command>/opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh 0 _SYS_ pc %ROM%</command>

    into this:

    <command>/opt/retropie/supplementary/ runcommand/runcommand.sh 0 _SYS_ pc %ROM% </command>

Once I backspaced each separation so it was on one line, it worked! Well, the "+Start DOSBox" entry works, but the ".SH" scripts I made do not launch the games properly, so that will be my next mission. Thanks for your help BuZz.

@Bytechanger they don't show in the menu. Launch from the emulator.

@Nexusrex said in Newbie questions (USB Drive, Wi-fi and others):

1- If I have a 4GB MicroSD card, could I load games from a USB Drive, or it will automaticly transfer into the MicroSD card?

    https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Running-ROMs-from-a-USB-drive

2- Same question about custom splashscreens

AFAIK the splashscreens stay at /home/pi/RetroPie/splashscreens (this directory is created during the first execution of the splashscreen menu in retropie_setup).

    3- Should i use WI-FI or it's just a recommended option?

Network connection is recommended (wi-fi or wired). So you can configure things through SSH, or use retroachivementes, for example.

RetroPie is perfectly usable when disconnected. You'll need a keyboard for some configuration tasks. But you can use it with only joysticks for gaming.

4- I did notice in the wiki, that after the name of some emulators, there is a red triangle. What is that triangle exactly?

Look at the end of the wiki home page, it means experimental.

You should be able to reconfigure your controller by bringing up the Emulation Station menu (by pressing Start) and choosing Configure Input.

@The-Layer-Cake rather than have a million BIOS files, I would just stick to one in the correct format:

    SCPH1001.BIN

delete the rest. this should mean you are emulating a USA psx system. make sure all your game files are also the USA (ntsc) versions and not EU/PAL etc.

also note what @Floob says about your cue/iso.

    @mattrixk
I have the C120 Pro remote, which might not have the same id numbers.

I found this post that helped solve the same issue as yours, where it would register as player 1 and the other controls were 2+.
From the post: "The following code deactivates the joystick part."
    https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2283297

Use this to find the usb interface/vendor/model id numbers:

    udevadm info -q all -n /dev/input/js0 | grep -Ei '(ID_USB_INTERFACE_NUM|ID_VENDOR_ID|ID_MODEL_ID)'

    Create rule using:

    sudo nano /etc/udev/rules.d/99-persistent-joystick.rules

and add the following in (replacing bInterfaceNumber, idVendor and idProduct with yours):

    SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{bInterfaceNumber}=="03", ATTRS{idVendor}=="0c45", ATTRS{idProduct}=="3451", RUN+="/bin/sh -c '/bin/echo -n %k >/sys${DEVPATH}/driver/unbind'"

Reboot, and you should see that js0 is no longer shown by using

    ls -l /dev/input/

and that controller 1 shows up as controller 1 when activated.

This may not be the proper way to do things, but the best I've found so far using it with PS3 controllers. If there's a better way, I'd be open to hearing it.

    Hope this helps.
