RetroPie 4.2 was released in 2017, so even in 2021 you were using an out-of-date version. My advice is to install from scratch using the current release and transfer your ROM/BIOS folders over to the new installation.

@vmkamhi 3rd party images aren't supported here. Nobody knows what the configurations are and how to solve so called problematic 3rd party images. You should start from scratch with the official Retropie image and transfer over all the games from your current card to the new fresh image.

This was the f-up, yes. As said, I'm fairly new to this platform, and I deleted the .cfg based on a post I found online and it let me reconfigure the controller, so I assumed this was the entirety.

@retropieuser555 @LLD correct in that audio cannot easily be addressed. I added the note about ScreenUpdateSetting = 7 in the sheet. Note there is also a comment in there for Perfect Dark from @George-Spiggott

Could also try Next/640x360 16:9 with MSAA Level 2 (recommended by @George-Spiggott RetroPie forums)

Forgive that my pi is offline (building lr-mess) at the moment, but I recall Perfect Dark could not be perfectly emulated with any system and there were some sacrifices with any proposed solution.

@mitu This makes even more sense especially, considering that SNES and PS1 where the problems for me. Hopefully this discovery can help further improve the next iteration of RetroPie.

@Gabbo999 you can install the desktop environment packages from the server install. Eg. Installing the ubuntu-desktop/xubuntu-desktop package (or another of your choice)

@tslayer71 What's the brand of your 1TB sd card?
It is very possible that it is a fake one and the true size is smaller...

Test the card for its true size, using one of the methods listed here:

I think the Bios changed position. It is now in home\pi\retropie\bios\amiga and it must contain

Kickstart v1.3 rev 34.5 (1987)(Commodore)(A500-A1000-A2000-CDTV).rom
Kickstart v2.05 rev 37.350 (1992)(Commodore)(A600HD).rom
Kickstart v3.1 rev 40.68 (1993)(Commodore)(A1200).rom

I am not sure about the 600 rom if it is necessary though.

It's a bit more difficult to install Python itself and overwrite the system's installed one, I was thinking you might have installed an older version of the GPIO Python module, which might explain the error message.

@windg Nope, it was the first I tried. I tried also Ctrl-X, Ctrl-C, Ctrl-Q, F10, Alt itself to see if a menu appears... Nothing worked, otherwise I wouldn't ask.
