The lightning bolt is a feature designed to detect cheap crap from China, when it shows up you should replace all cheap Chinese crap for something decent.

@flagrant99 I doubt it has anything to do with the 4.3 upgrade, I've seen the same behavior before and there are a few posts in the forum asking the same thing.
The symlink support in Samba - the application that's responsible for the file sharing - has changed a long time ago due to the https://www.samba.org/samba/news/symlink_attack.html .
If you want to enable it again, then you'll need to modify the configuration file just like it's described here - https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/5120/how-do-you-make-samba-follow-symlink-outside-the-shared-path .

If you already know what command to start the program you need, you only have to put the same command in /etc/rc.local file and add a & symbol in the end of the line.

@burgoyne Did you ever get any resolution to this issue? I had the same thing happen to me and I am also looking for a solution to use the same gamepad.

They sold you retropie illegally https://retropie.org.uk/about/legal/ . You'll have to ask the seller for support as we have no idea what they have done to it.

Short answer: No.

Long answer: You can find workarounds to achieve that. Such as keeping different gamelist.xml files and changing them according to the theme. But there isn't any tool ready to change/rename the files automatically.

If I remember right @jdrassa talked about ES having a feature to launch custom scripts after changing themes, AFAIK it was just an idea. Nothing implemented yet...

Scraper doesn't like some formats. I had a gamegear set in 7zip and it wouldn't scrap other then one zip file I had there. Lucky I had that game otherwise I wouldn't noticed it.

No, I mean get in emulationstation get in a game (any game but you have to do this with every emulator)and enter the menu from there with your keyboard. Then you can go to the input settings (with your keyboard) and bind the keys to your controller.

This thread is a year old and things have moved on since it was posted.

@mitu when it detects the keyboard at startup with the configuration pop up. I had a controller connected up then connected up the usb reciever to use with keyboard and no buttons worked to navigate the RP screens other than the controller.

@barbudreadmon thanks for reply. I’m sure mame2010 only supports 1-2 players so installed mame2014 and it’s now working great!

@lama put them in /home/pi/Retropie/BIOS/ There are several ways to put bios’ on. Usb rom service, retropie manager (not all bios will transfer this way) and a program like winscp to sftp.
