      @mitu
Yes, I will try changing the ROM file. I am using lr-stella2014 as the emulator.

EDIT: I figured it out. On the retroarch menu settings the controller was set to stella adaptor paddle controller. I set it to gamepad and it works now! I remember one day I was trying to use a pc mouse as a paddle, and I must have changed controller setting to paddle and kept it by accident. Sorry about that! Thank you!

I finally have a solution that is working for me.

I found that if I have the PulseAudio Volume Control application (pavucontrol) open and then start emulationstation, Pitfall will properly output it's audio via HDMI.

As a kludge, I added PulseAudio Volume Control to my Startup Applications and now I consistently and seemingly have reliable audio output via HDMI.

It makes no sense to me whatsoever, but my best guess is that having it open forces it to use the Digital Stereo (HDMI) Output profile.

I use these cool devices on icode.com. They allow you to have up to 4 paddles or joysticks connected to you PC via usb. There is even a bluetooth version.

@Wolf64 As I mentioned in my previous post, I am not familiar with lr-stella. I've never used it. That is why I asked in my post, "are all these mappable to a controller in lr-stella?"

I only use the standalone version.

For sure the keyboard works in the standalone version because I do it all the time.

I've never attempted to map these functions to a controller button in the standalone version. I've no reason to try this as I only use real Atari joysticks, paddles, driving controller, etc.

I don't have a different controller to test the standalone version for you, sorry.

Maybe the developers here that modded Stella for RetroPie can chime in and confirm for you.

@TheSausageKing after you map the keyboard are you pressing the button you mapped as "a" to ok the configuration? Once you do it, it can take 20 secs or so sometimes for the configuration to take effect.

Got it. You have to go to the individual emulator retroarch.cfg file. This is what mine looks like now for atari2600 and it works.

      # Settings made here will only override settings in the global retroarch.cfg if placed above the includes. input_remapping_directory = "/opt/retropie/configs/atari2600/" input_enable_hotkey = "escape" input_exit_emulator = "escape" #include "/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg"

@mitu I'm sorry. I'm new. I am using lr-stella. I wasn't sure how to switch to the other emulator. Thanks. I'll check out that link. I've been Googling my butt off but nothing was coming up.

@cyperghost said in Achievements for Atari 2600 games:

HaHa ;) If this would be made than I think @mediamogul has no excuse for trying this in hardcore mode.

How else am I supposed to get the hardcore 'Rage Quit' achievement? It would be funny to have an achievement that registers an exit from the game within a small window of time. It could be called, 'Eh.... no. I don't think so.'

@crumbs what resolution is your tv? When you select a game it pops up press a button to configure and either remove any video settings you have set or set it to the resolution of your tv and see if that helps.

I should mention my screen is Vertical...

That's probably the issue. I've never run Stella on a vertical setup, but the screen settings should be configurable.
