@crush I was too. AFAIK if you have ps3controller installed and you install sixaxis, then ps3controllergets automatically uninstalled. But seems like installing ps3controller works perfectly after having installed sixaxis.

Still looking for a solution on this issue if anyone has any advice.

I would add that I have two DragonRise controllers, a USB Mouse (e.g., spinner), and USB keyboard connected.

I changed out the controller board for the 2nd player with another DragonRise just to see if it was the problem. That wasn't it.

@peetem All the files in the config folder should be owned and accessible by the installation user (pi on a Pi system). They're also available at \\retropie\configs via file shares.
Check the permissions on that folder by running

ls -ld /opt/retropie/configs

and post the output.

This is also happening with RetroArch for Android, reverting to a previous build (november 2020) of PCSX ReARMed solved the issue without changing any RA config.

@dankcushions I appreciate the info and was thinking I need to do a fresh install. I was hoping for a workaround without having to start from scratch but will try the fresh install.

@thegrayfalcon No, user settings are not deleted when updating or removing an emulator. Look into the \\retropie\configs\all\retroarch\config folder, this is where overrides (game/core) are stored, and delete the offending overrides.
For remaps, look into \\retropie\configs\<system>, where <system> is the name of the RetroPie rom folder, and delete any .rmp files you find.

@demonscythe Hey!, I never got this resolved unfortunately. I stopped using the Piboy and got an Odroid Go Super instead, because of some multiple reasons. Maybe if you post your log here others may be able to help out. I don't know if ExperimentalPi's script auto makes the DMG controls 1st player, but that is also something to ask them about. Let me know if I can help in any way though.

I'm not sure. Wouldn't I have done that when I got the first Playstation controller working?
I ask because I don't really know. I followed a YouTube video directions to get the first dog-chewed controller working (not really knowing in detail what I was doing). One dog-chewed Playstation controller does work with RetroPie now.
I can see the other controller in the "Registered Devices" (both controllers, at the same time actually). I just can't switch between them, or better yet - get them both working at the same time.

-- But -- I did get it working just now.

I think the controller itself was locked up. I pressed the reset button on the bottom of the controller and it now works. In fact, they both now work at the same time. This is awesome!!

@iandaemon one option might be to use one of these atari flashback joysticks. Haven't tested myself but it supports the extra buttons youd need

@messy in which screen/menu are you seeing the "you can unplug the controller now"? Is it on the "pair register bluetooth device" after going from EmulationStation > Bluetooth menu?

@mortalwombat I keep an SSD plugged into my case and it just sits under the TV so you can't see anything for the most part.

If you really want an all-in-one solution, Argon just released a new case that holds an M.2 SSD inside.

Praise the sun, omfg this finally solved my issue. I've been slaving away at this thing for nearly half a day now trying to figure out why the controller suddenly stopped working only in PCSX and only in the game itself. Had to make an account just to say this.
