Launch with verbose logging. Copy the log and post it here (via pastebin.com).

An easy way to access the log file (if your Pi is on your home network) is copy it to your roms folder, where you can access it from the network share. Press F4 on your keyboard to exit EmulationStation, then copy the log file with the command:

cp /dev/shm/runcommand.log /home/pi/RetroPie/roms

Then you can access it through the network share from a Windows computer on the same network, by navigating to \\retropie (if your network doesn't recognize hostnames, you can try \\your.pi's.ip.address) in a File Explorer window (you'll have to open "roms," the log file will be inside it.)

@dreamcastkid That may be true, and they could be defining the same thing or perhaps using a different approach to correct the perspective geometry enhancing the GTE processor or the Emulated Geometry Transform Pipeline . The co-processor for original hardware playstation was called the Geometry Transform Engine. A few plugins available for PCSX-R and EPSXE have GTE accuracy hacks but these plugin options are lost in Retroarch, or perhaps already implimented.

Thanks, it's empty. I think the emulator crashes all before it has a chance to even log something.

Thank you for your post. Having two SF30 pro and got the same issue.
After configuring as per you post above, the mapping is strange. For example, the hotkey is used to jump under tomb raider.
In other words, the controller map is not as per lib-retro "standard" for psx. Any idea how to be back on standard lib retro mapping ?
My config : retropie 4.7.3 / pi 4

We don't support 3rd party images. Ask the author(s) of the image for support or use the image from retropie.org.uk/download.

So in creating PBP files are they compatible with real PSP hardware running CFW?

Praise the sun, omfg this finally solved my issue. I've been slaving away at this thing for nearly half a day now trying to figure out why the controller suddenly stopped working only in PCSX and only in the game itself. Had to make an account just to say this.

Thanks guys! This worked for me as well.
I don't update regularly, but once I did, I found same issue with my Multitap settings set to "auto", leaving my Castlevania Symphony of the Night quest on hold till I figured it out :)
