@matchaman I think it should work, but I can't be sure if the final install image won't require a reinstall. As for drivers, those are usually distributed with Raspbian, so if anything gets updated on that part, they'll be automatically installed as part of a normal OS package update.

@bombshelboy I have an rPi 4, and it works just fine. You just have to install it yourself.

@h4ckerv2 I tested some things at the same time but I thing all the things together solved the issue:
-Change the psx bios to another of another website
-Disable the screensaver in all places (rpi and retropie), in rpi you will need to install first a screensaver and disable it after.

Maybe it's old news, but the Lakka build for Pi4 is now available as a stable release.

There is no RetroPie version with support for the Pi4, you'll have to wait until support is added in a subsequent version.

@KN4THX Exactly. I wouldn't buy a ssd drive just for a Pi, but when I upgrade the ssd on my main pc, then I could use the older one.

@jrb555 My main pc monitor is at 1440p and I use RetroPie on a separate smaller 480p. Love those pixels, part of the charm, but only if its sharp image. Your tv or monitor have to scale up the 720p to its native 1080p and that is where blurryness comes. If you play on a native 720p monitor, the pixels will be sharp.

I'm new to retropie, the PI4 was sleeping nearly a year until I guess I found a project where I want to use it. :-)
although well documented on the github it is not for raspberry pi, did anybody try to compile and build it as a selectable option in retropie based on a raspberry pi 4, suceeded and has a half-newbie howto for this? :-)

@mat 4Gb is already pretty useless if you only intend to run Retropie on it.

@Swedishkiller12 It has more power and an important software part (GLES compatibility) is solved/improved. The emulators on N64 still could need some work, but the Pi 4 will most probably be a big improvement on N64 games. We can't say more than this.
