@yyx2 said in N64, NES and more not showing:

okey, let's see. what is meaning with image?

How exactly did you install RetroPie ? Did you use the file provided at retropie.org.uk/download (.img.gz) or other methods/files ?

The usb part i've configure to read roms trough the usb. I followed the steps where i first add some roms to the sd card, then transfered them to the usb. i don't know if you understand what i mean, but i hope you do.

Use the Finder to transfer your files, over the network, and leave the USB alone for now - see the file transfer method using file shares.

You need to start a game first, the file doesn't exist until a game has been run. Make sure you toggle verbose logging when starting the game; after you exit the game you should have a log file in /dev/shm.

you didn't fill out https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first so i'm assuming that you used the official retropie zero image, so the default pre-installed ones should be the most performant.

@TedMaul About Wario Land, I played 1 and 2 and the second game is brilliant and by far better. Its a really good top notch Nintendo quality game, which should say a lot (Quality of Seal 👌🏻). Can't say much about the other parts, as I didn't play them. From my brief experience the third one seems to be good too.

After my genius idea to delete all stuff in this discussion, which only cause trouble and chaos, I figured out to do another attempt and post again. This is version 2 of the little app. The gui and commandline are streamlined into one app. The commandline options are flexible now and it supports a configuration file. Unfortunately in GUI mode only one patch file at a time is supported (but I think this is not a real issue and is a limitation in GUI only). And it can create output folders too. Updated the first post with all relevant information.

      It started out so simple.

@dteam Thank you for the kind words, this means a lot to me. Initially I had plans on doing more with other systems too, but the way I did it was too much work for me and a lot has changed in my private life too. The plans are still there, just with little bit less of scope. As for this document, off course there are things I would have done differently now. But that will always be the case. And did anyone notice the starts at the last "Thank you for reading" page are clickable links to some websites?^^ So guess this makes them to Easter eggs.

Just for the fun and sake of discussion, what games did you miss on the list? Or what games does not belong to it in your own opinion? How many of you are on Raspberry Pi 3 or older?

@soldomino said in Questions about GPi:

I'm viewing the Pi using WinSCP, if that matters.

If you're using SSH to access your Pi, then you can look at/opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/gamelists, it's basically the same folder.

Knowing that will help me whittle down what games I should put on there (SNES Doom, Star Fox, and really any Mode 7 stuff was lagging pretty bad)

I think that even with older/less accurate emulation, you won't be able to emulate SuperFX games full speed on a Pi 0.

@pinacolada Ok so I think I've resolved this.

Firstly, I took advice from a YouTube video which described how to update RetroPie itself - this took me to the following screens:

Update Remote Setup Script Basic Install Perform Reboot

It took a while, and looked like some errors occurred during the install, however...it did come back up, and now the hotkey + right trigger DOES load from the save slot.

So I guess the root cause here was an older version of Retropie.

Please add more info about your system, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
The save file is done by RetroArch, which I haven't heard or see to work that (doesn't matter the which core is used).
