@RedBatman No pc release? :-( I never played Crash Team Racing, but always thought that it looks good. The only Mario Kart clones I played and finished was Diddy Kong Racing and Sonic & All-Stars Transformed, and it was worth it. I would play CTR too. I wonder why it does not get a pc port, it comes for all consoles and the Crash Bandicoot remaster also got pc release.

I had the same issue. Putting one of the BIOS files in the \retropie\bios folder fixed the issue for me. https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Playstation-1

    Hi chernandezba

I really like your work :)

I read that zesarux also emulates MK14, zxspecnext, QL. Are those available in the retropie version? I've installed via the above (changing line 26 to point to - https://github.com/chernandezba/zesarux.git etc) - but note the .sh only adds spectrum, amstrad, samcoupe.

I see the machine options in the menu.

Do you please (please!) have plans to add the other systems to retropie build, or advise how to force emulation direct into each machine?

    TIA

    Iain

    @mitu

Great, no I've never answer my own post, I do talk to myself though, no one else will listen.

I did see the notifications indicator, when I first joined the forum I didn't set up the notifications. I did so now I get an email when some one replies.

    Thanks again for the help

@mitu I was hoping to get rid of Android itself, so RetroPie could replace the OS. Then RetroArch would be the next best thing to it.

If anyone have experience with it and reading this, please report here. I am curious.

@Breadbin As long as the system has 4 working controllers (regardless of how they're connected), it should work. The only possible configuration would be in the emulator options, to enable multi-tap if it's not the default.

Wow, look how late I am!

I can confirm that yes, you can use your pre-scraped art from Recalbox on Retropie. It's pretty much the same as using Skyscraper (I think, though I've only used that on my desktop PC). As long as you use the same roms, images and gamelists you're good to go. Well, it all worked for me anyway, and saves A LOT of extra scraping. :-)

@tonberryhunter I think this thread shows exactly that you are not right about the current state. You are opening a thread where you talk in a derogatory tone about moderators, who work in their free time and give the software for free, doing what they can do for you if you have a problem. They maintain the site and forum. Yet, you don't change your abusive tone.

    And guess what?*
This thread did not got closed!

You are free to tell your opinion or ask questions in a fair and friendly manner, even if you aren't friendly, you don't get banned. But don't expect help in that case. Now, if you want talk about the state of the forum and moderators, I can tell you my experience. Some of them are actively discussing here in the forum and are helping with useful answers. Of course you can't expect every answer to be perfect, even if they would be paid professionals (which is not the case here). I have no complaints here. So my advice is: Be polite, the nice tone will change everything.

Edit: I can understand if you get frustrated because a problem isn't solved, I also experienced some frustrations here and there. That don't give us a free ticket to attack the moderators. RetroPie and emulation on Raspberry Pi isn't a flawless easy experience, there are known and unknown problems and you should know this fact. If you commit yourself to this project, then expect that, we are sitting on the same boat.

@markwkidd said in I forked 2 arcade emulator cores and added many hacks from HBMAME.:

We've discussed in mame2003-plus that it would be good to only add hacks and homebrews that bring meaningful changes from the versions of games that are already supported.

Some games seem to have dozens and dozens of different hacks that only make minor changes like enabling a certain cheat. That is what we realized when we were working together before.

In other words, we're willing to add 3 or 4 hacked versions of a game -- if the hacks are interesting -- but not 20 or 40.

If there are some "Best of HBMAME" hacks and homebrews in your fork that are compatible with mame2003-plus then let's try to work together to add them.

For now I spend most of my time trying to port all hacks from HBMAME of PC to my HBMAME2003 Plus and M.B.A mini Plus since we have no port of HBMAME for SBC. I have ported about 2 thousands of hacks from HBMAME. And I also decrypt and offer some hacks from a commerical emulator named YouJu. Maybe later when I am free I will try to choose some valuable hacks and add them to MAME2003 plus.

@herb_fargus - Yeah all the wankers are coming out of the woodwork for the holidays trying to make a dollar. I think a guy would spend all of his free time trying to stop them with any type of impact. They are just a dime a dozen everywhere now infringing on the RetroPie name, logo and even boot-up screens. One vendor mentions they would need to upgrade from 4.3 to 4.4 to correct the issue so they must follow the project closely.

Hopefully that speaks to the success of RetroPie but also I was talking with a guy that claimed RetroPie was getting in the way of understanding/configuring Retroarch. I thought that's the point. RA might receive a 9 or 10 for flexibility and power but maybe 4 or 5 for ease and usability. It takes time to learn RA effectively. RetroPie simplifies all that configuration, unifies non-Libretro cores and standalone ports alike under one user interface with many of the configuration options in a GUI or menu.

The success of the Nintendo mini's and the recent Atari VCS kickstarter attests to people willing to pay big dollars for a simplified user experience an that's one of the places where I think RetroPie delivers.

You don't see all these fly-by-night Amazon market place vendors singing the praises of RA or Libretro. They advertise these cards with RetroPie at the front and 11,000 ROMs plug-n-play ready with room to add your own games in the descriptions. I'm a bit surprised Nintendo didn't focus more of it's energy toward these type of folks openly selling their games on the Amazon marketplace. They are definitely not in for the spirit or love of gaming as most are here.

I did clean up the post and remove the links above so as to not aid and abet their greed.

My wife got some of those in at the retail store she works at. All I can say is that I very much do not recommend them. They are smaller than what 3/4 sounds like when you see them in person, it's quite a cramped experience. They are also extremely light and a bit flimsy.
