@sgtjimmyrustles You will still need to install from a fresh image (It would be possible to update from Jessie to Stretch manually, but it's quicker to backup roms/configsm write the image and restore imho)

You can use this image https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/16307/retropie-4-3-15-stretch-images-for-testing/ - it will become the next RetroPie image (with a few bugfixes if there are any issues we missed)

I don't know of those right now that haven't already been stated. But I can say, I saw a series of videos recently, one on Streets of Rage 2, that I HIGHLY recommend.

I would recommend subscribing to this person, I already have.

Iโ€™d like to add in my thanks as well. Originally I had a few dozen nes games but Iโ€™ve since expanded into hundreds of games for multiple systems and Iโ€™ve learned quite a bit of Linux along the way. Currently Iโ€™m working on configuring a collection of games for ms-dos and had an amazing time playing TIE Fighter last night. What a game, and what a time we live in!

Also, this thing is an absolute hit at parties. I have it set up in a back room next to my kitchen and half the guests end up in there playing Mario, Frogger or Street Fighter at some point. I get lots of questions about it and love talking about the Raspberry Pi project and Linux.

Dreamcast and other consoles had replacement shells available, both official and 3rd party. Might be a good place to look and they would have loads of room for things like drives or multiple pis. I know its probably off topic for this threat, but I can definitely see some possibilities in them.

It looks like you've already been answered, sorry about the wait. I don't always have time to check this forum daily.

Oh no no no! I didn't gave enough context, the part about not reposting and provoking statement was to the thread opener, not to you!

The NUC are interesting, but cost a lot more. But I can see why you like them. ;-)

@thelostsoul said in NES PAL color reproduction in le-nestopia:

So its possible with both emulators.

Yes it is. They both even share many, if not all, of the same filters. However, in a few cases, the filters have different names.

Nestopia is said to be more accurate and less problems with sound production

Neither core will run every game, so you'll probably want both if you're looking for maximum coverage. lr-nestopia does seem to handle some of the more finicky unlicensed titles, like 'Action 52' that lr-fceumm won't even launch.

My main question is, what should I set them to if I want a similiar experience like my old PAL tv?

I'm a Statesman myself, so that'll best be answered by someone else.

These remakes and ports are a quick cash grab aimed at aging nostalgic nerds. I have nothing against aging nostalgic nerds seeing that I am one, but these games serve no real purpose.

The Secret of Mana remake is in the same category. It has the production costs nearer to a crappy mobile game, but priced at 40USD. No thanks.

HaHa ;) If this would be made than I think @mediamogul has no excuse for trying this in hardcore mode.

How else am I supposed to get the hardcore 'Rage Quit' achievement? It would be funny to have an achievement that registers an exit from the game within a small window of time. It could be called, 'Eh.... no. I don't think so.'

@quicksilver Yeah, I did the same. Took those that were already converted, the rest I went for bin/cue formats. Converting myself never went right.

Thanks for the guide! I'll give it a try later. So far I'm only interested in PCE-CD and Sega CD games.

The USB hub is internal, I can't change it (well, i could maybe). And I don't use that NESpi case, its a different one called NES case, which even don't look like an NES case (its black). Maybe same poor quality issue. I even don't use the fan, because it is loud as a jet. And that pcb is rated to be used with 4 usb connections plus the fan. Not sure if its a power issue.

For now, I will not try more as I don't want mess it up again. I will get a bigger sd card (from 32gb to maybe 128gb, or at least 64gb) and its all done.

I didnโ€™t know about these (I donโ€™t do Twitter/fb) but my local(ish) one was cancelled so Iโ€™ll definitely keep an eye out for when it comes up again. Those Pi-ceed units always looked good for a simple arcade setup...

@thedatacereal said in Pi Zero and Performance... Can anyone clear it up?:

My pi zero runs snes perfectly fine with a standard PI 1/zero build

This probably depends on the game and the personal "perfectly fine". Zelda 3 on SNES had < 45 fps in the starting area outside the house on 1080p. With 720p it has nearly 60 fps.

@thelostsoul said in Neo Geo folder - is it worth it?:

the only way would be having two different core options files and that is a no go to me personally.

I don't really understand the aversion to this. The settings are thoughtfully put in place to allow the type of functionality you're looking for. Having two files seems like a small price to pay, but that's just me.

@udb23 Oh damn, didn't thought about the buttons. Ok, good point. And about the kensington, I saw it too on Amazon, but I am not sure if I should get wireless or wired one. I tend to wireless, because my arcade stick and 2 gamepads are wired.
