    It's working okay now all things considered. I'm surprised at how well the scaling works as on the raspbian + retropie the text is harder to see and the borders are a bit off even in the terminal. I should try to copy retropie's font to my other sd cards with raspbian + retropie on them to make the console more visible

    Glad you got it sorted out, actually RetroPie is using Raspbian (RPI OS) Lite underneath, so there's no specific font that's included in RetroPie.

    Maybe the borders' position have something to do with the Overscan settings for the display ? Or you may try to increase the font size from the Setup script, as explained here ?

    @johna4242 I had the same issue on a new setup with a Pi 3B+. I had to replace mame2000_libretro.so using an old file from another Retropie Setup from a year ago and it works OK.

    Current lr-mame2000 doesn't work (segfaults).

    @retrofam I wonder if Auto-Rotate is overriding that. You might need to disable it.

    @shotokan the script maps the gamepad inputs to keyboard codes. The inputs used are ['left', 'right', 'up', 'down', 'a', 'b', 'x', 'y', 'pageup', 'pagedown'] and are mapped to the codes given as parameters.
    So left= kcub1, right= kcuf1, etc.
    The parameter codes are given as terminfo values, listed in https://pubs.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/7908799/xcurses/terminfo.html.

    @mitu This was helpful! But I also had to force 1080p by setting hdmi_group and hdmi_mode:

    hdmi_group=2
    hdmi_mode=82

    For more video mode options see:

    This is how I fixed laggy N64 performance on my 4K tv:

    hit F4
    cd /boot
    sudo vi config.txt

    in config.txt, add the following to force 1080p:

    hdmi_group=2
    hdmi_mode=82

    [hdmi:0]
    hdmi_max_pixel_freq=200000000

    [hdmi:1]
    hdmi_max_pixel_freq=200000000

    @mitu said in Unsupported mappers for all LibRetro-based NES emulator:

    The game seems similar to San Guo Zhi (Ch), which is using the 252 mapper and works (at least with Mesen and Nestopia):

    Thanks for confirming. I got my hand on that other rom using mapper 252 and i can confirm it works properly on my side.

    @ffaddic thanks for info.
    I am aware that you can force retroarch to get updated even without being supported by the retropie setup-script.
    I prefer to wait until retroarch gets verified and 1.9.x (even .13 maybe?) will be part of the official setup-script to avoid running in other issues :)

    Thanks for the advise concerning *.cso.
    I just had a look, i only have *.iso on the pi while in fact having lots of *.cso on my real CFW-PSP1001 ;)

    Please provide the rest of the info asked in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

    You should upload the gamelist.xml for the system where the faulty files reside, to make sure it's not been incorrectly generated.

    @synersist if you are using screenscraper.fr it is down right now.

    The Retro Arena posted

    screenscraper.fr "We are sorry to have to close the site and the API until minimum Thursday morning. Our database has suffered damage from these mysql indexes.
    We will try to recreate them after deleting them to see if that fixes the current mysql connection problems.
    Rest assured we haven't lost any data
    Thank you again for your patience."
