You can, but I think the process is manual - scraping might not work for folders.
As an alternate method - you can use a .conf file for each game and keep the game folders in rom/pc-data. The .conf method allows you to map your PC games' folders, map CD rom images add configurations/mapper files per-gam, add additional commands to run during startup. The .conf file should be easier for scraping.

That did it, my homemade joystick is working now direct into the CPU.

I do find it disturbing though that an official release is internally inconsistent. With any open project my next move should be to volunteer to fix it. I'm not there yet but learning every day.

As an update I installed the Pixel desktop and started Amiberry from there. I created a hardfile and installed WB3.1 on there and installed whdload. When I run AGA games from the Worbench OS, I do not have this issue where the AGA games are bigger than the LCD. So there must be some setting when running whdload directly from the amiberry emulator in retropie that is causing this. Still looking for a solution.

Just as I posted this I managed to figure it out. It seams that when kodi in osmc starts a script it starts it in root directory where it has no privilages. Adding "cd /home/osmc" at the beginning of "/home/osmc/RetroPie/scripts/retropie.sh" solved the problem!

@simonster I did this with advmame 3.9 for robotron, just mapped the controls differently for that game only and I can use both sticks.

Just had a thought, if you followed the manual install instructions, it may have changed your version of GCC to an old version which may affect your ability to compile.

I can't remember what it was but it definitely happened to me at some point.

Edit: It was this line, forced an earlier version of cpp and GCC to be linked as current version:
sudo apt-get install -y --force-yes dkms cpp-4.7 gcc-4.7 git
I think I had to force reinstall the current builds of gcc and cpp back on over the top.

Because it's not an issue with Retropie, it's just that I did not initially understand how to use Retropie :P There is no technical information to fix an issue here, just me, asking a somewhat stupid-ish question that I could have solved by reading the getting started guide more carefully haha! Thank you tough for replying! Now I am becoming a master Retropie'er :P

There is no RetroPie version with support for the Pi4, you'll have to wait until support is added in a subsequent version.
