    @mitu That didn't seem to work unfortunately. BUT after getting another batch of ROMs I was able to get them working! Not sure what was happening with the other ROMs since they worked on my PC but these ones seem to work fine. Hopefully I don't have any further issues.

    Thank you for the help!

    Folks I have been working hard to make this work, and I am unsure of where I may have dropped the ball.

    I am running this on a PC and not a Pi. I am also not a Ubuntu Guru by any means. That being said I followed your instructions, and I am able to see my games, but they are not lunching. I get the following in my Logs.

    code_textParameters: Executing: SYS /opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh: line 1251: SYS: command not found

    Any ideas what I have done wrong?

    hdmi_safe=1 is equivalent to:

    hdmi_force_hotplug=1 hdmi_ignore_edid=0xa5000080 config_hdmi_boost=4 hdmi_group=2 hdmi_mode=4 disable_overscan=0 overscan_left=24 overscan_right=24 overscan_top=24 overscan_bottom=24

    You can add

    hdmi_force_hotplug=1 hdmi_ignore_edid=0xa5000080 config_hdmi_boost=4 hdmi_group=2 hdmi_mode=4 disable_overscan=1

    instead of hdmi_safe=1.

    idk about fbalpha2012, but in fbneo those settings are available through core options.
    i'm wondering though, why are you using the old fbalpha2012 instead of fbneo ? you have a very old raspberry pi or something ?

    You can reset the input configuration by deleting the default.cfg file - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/MAME/#controls.

    @Clyde

    I’m not angry at anyone here. But this does further solidify my anger with the vendor. I see now that this is a topic discussed often here.

    I find it interesting that the company is willing to sell “kits” with pre-loaded RetroPie but their contact number explicitly states that they don’t support 3rd party products.

    I’m sure there are many people who buy these thinking they are basically plug ‘n plays as that is how they are advertised, essentially. That’s why I initially purchased a 60-in-1 JAMMA board, as I was intimidated by the apparent complexity of working with a Raspberry Pi, having only basic computer knowledge.

    I will consider just reinstalling the actual RetroPie image, but will need to chat with my friend to see if he will be able to assist me. I will probably save the few ROMs I want to keep, as there is a lot of useless stuff I don’t care about. Thanks!

    @Impy

    Thanks for all the help guys. I finally got it to work yesterday. Seems I forgot to go back and configure the controller once the Bluetooth was set up. I just use the keyboard to bring up controller input and everything was good after that.

    Thanks a bunch! 👍

    One final note...

    I had been doing all of my testing on an x86 platform. Since moving the scripts/overlays to my RPI4, I had to increase the sleep outside the loop to 2 otherwise it wouldn't pause.

    #! /bin/bash while ! pgrep retroarch >/dev/null; do : sleep 1 done sleep 2 echo -n "PAUSE_TOGGLE" | nc -u -w1 127.0.0.1 55355

    @FRAQATTAQ said in Light gun does not work for most games:

    Guide used: Wagner tech talk

    Could you provide a link to the guide, please?

    Emulator: emulation station / retropie / mame

    Emulation Station and Retropie are not emulators, and Retropie supports a number of different MAME versions. See here for a list. Which one did you try?

    The default MAME of the official Retropie image is lr-mame2003 which uses the romset of MAME 0.78. You can see the emulator used (and change it) in the Runcommand Launch Menu.

    You'll need the right romset for your MAME version, other romset will probably fail or cause problems. See lArcade and Validating, Rebuilding, and Filtering ROM Collections for more information about that.

    I wonder if any "good brand" TV of that time has also this problem ?

    Telefunken used to be good, they sold the name, its not really telefunken anymore.
    DGM is a total unknown brand.

    I wonder if any LG TV has audio problems.

    @retropieuser555 yeah I'm finding that works great to be honest..

    I know @BuZz you said you need more info... But there's no info in the docs for the others..... So not really sure what else you'd expect me to have posted

    If you mean reporting an issue... I wasn't really doing that... I just meant it narrowed my choices...

    Quite happy with vrscumm.... Happy to take feedback though as you all do a great job here

    Many of my friends who are IT professionals avoid spaces in filenames and directory names, because you'll never know when they will cause problems.

    To satisfy our human need for readability, underscores are the next best thing to spaces.

    RENAME ISNT AND OPTION because files are on network drive and other programs already are configured to this.

    And re-configuring those programs reallly wasn't an option? If the mountain will not come to the prophet, the prophet must go
    to the mountain.

    @stattmone If you're using the standalone emulator, then the configuration you've done have no effect. Look in the /opt/retropie/configs/n64/mupen64plus.cfg file and re-arrange the controllers there (look for [Input-SDL-Control1], [Input-SDL-Control2], etc.). The same file is available at \\retropie\configs\n64, if you're using file shares to access your Pi.
