Sorry for providing hints into wrong direction. I must admit I did not follow the portable devices section of Nintendo HW well.

Turns out that I couldn't install it, is there a build of it for arm64?

No, there isn't. The binary provided by the developer(s) of DraStic is only for 32 bit ARM. Also note that we don't support Ubuntu on the Pi, so some things might not work correctly.

....But not completely. I saved state during the "off to Mist village" intro animation and now the game never runs anymore, even after deleting the saved state and reinstalling the rom.

    the logs show:
    Executing: /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-ppsspp/ppsspp_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/psp/retroarch.cfg "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/psp/FF4CC.cso" --appendconfig /dev/shm/retroarch.cfg
    glGetError 0x500

I'm mainly wondering if there's some other, deeper config besides the retroarch file in the ppsspp folder somewhere that got distorted by my save state.

System is running Retropie Playbox on Raspberry Pi 4 (Cortex-A72)

We don't support 3rd party images - use the RetroPie image from retropie.org.uk/download and report back if you still have the issue when saving the remaps for the game.

@jamrom2 Yes Space Taxi was definitely the biggest jump to nostalgia for me with the C64. I installed lr-vice from source. It's a bit clunky but ultimately I got it to work. Thank you for your suggestion. Load time was about 2 minutes. Had to hit select/coin to bring up the virtual keyboard just to get past the cheat menu. Then I was finally able to use the joystick.

    Thanks again for your help!

If you're at 100% full, there cold be problems starting some system services - including bluetooth.

It's probably possible, if the touch screen attached to the Pi has the necessary drivers to make the touch appear a mouse device.

Okay, I figured out the solution... even though all other ROMs i've tried are european they still work with the american BIOS... but only Bugs Bunny and Taz don't.

I'll only use USA roms from now on.. The screen doesn't jump with USA version of the game

@mitu Thanks for the suggestion. Tried that already previously but it didn't work, but I will give it another go. I hope the new HDMI cable will fix the issue.

OK so my mausberry finally came. And it looks like it is different but not too different as the 3V LED pad is present so my concern is null. I can confirm that they have terrible communication and shipping took forever. I only got an order confirmation after I threatened to dispute the credit card charge. never even got an initial email saying my order was received.

@mitu said in Video's Playing in Background of Grid View:

Have you tried using the dev branch of EmulationStation ? You can install the emulationstation-dev package from the experimental section and it will pull that version, instead of the stable one.

    UPDATE:

So I finally was able to circle back on this and test it. I can confirm that installing emulationstation-dev did do the trick with the audio glitch in the grid view. However, I'm a little concerned I might introduce instability or unintended consequences by not using the "official" stable one. Is that a legit concern? Could issues arise by using the dev version as my regular one, or would I benefit from more improvements (even though it's not fully released yet)?

never mind because i put the on/off switch in the middle. ugh. it says on the website that this battery bank stays on, but it goes to sleep after inactivity. does anyone have any reccomendations on a dual output usb battery bank that charges via a micro usb port and stays on? and is relatively small?

If you have a Linux system, yes. Windows cannot read the SDcard's contents. You may take a backup as an .img (with Win32DiskImager, as mentioned in the docs) and try to open it with 7Zip.

@romstar said in What's the correct aspect ratio I should be using as a config for a HAPP / VISION PRO 19" LCD arcade monitor for MAME Horizontal / Vertical games:

I changed the bottom line to mame2003_tate_mode = "enabled" which ultimately resolved my issue. now The vertical game is finally displaying the way it should on my HAPP Vision pro monitor mounted vertical !! At some point I'd like to build a vertical only list of games and have the menu / retropi running exclusively in vertical mode.

I knew it would change your life. I would not recommend trying to make the whole of retropie itself work in vertical mode yet, though. I stayed with my rotating monitor because rotating emulationstation causes performance issues. I believe it also became more difficult to rotate emulationstation on the Pi4 because the option was deprecated. I stayed with my Pi3b for my vertical MAME games for that reason and hope that a good solution for a fully vertical system presents itself later.

OK, i worked it out. Please consider this help request closed.

For anyone else having the same issue: don't map the "Retroarch keyboard as joystick" to any of the four available ports in Amiberry's controls menu.

The keyboard then works as a keyboard. I find it counter intuitive, but hey! It works.
