I have pretty much resorted to AdvanceMame for anything that the lr-MAME cores (mostly 2003) can't handle with a decent framerate and no glitches on the Pi3, and it's been surprisingly reliable.

I can even run the Sega System 24 games on it without any slowdown or problems, namely Bonanza Bros, CrackDown and Gain Ground.

Strongly recommend.

@buzz do you have any info on the possibility of being able to run stella 5.0 or newer for the pi? There is a cool 2600 homebrew that requires at least 5.0.

@jonnykesh unzipped .nds work fine too. I have all of mine unzipped

screen scraper mix is pretty good lets me scrap my custom folders with ease

After loading ScummVM through command line, I get this error.

Many shaders include options to alter the effects they produce, including brightening the picture. Have you tried investigating that? Details for crt-pi on what you can change and the easiest way to make those changes.

Thanks, I will check out the Ps1 versions, and yes I have all the tile art files for blood, if I take the folder to my pc and launch it, it plays fine, but on the pi it gives the error.

@richiep I have the deadzone issue as well. I'm using the Ram controls USB adapter, and I think the deadzone is programmed in the controller. When I run a jstest on it, I can see the deadzone in the numbers, so I haven't gotten into the mame settings. I use advmame, so I'm not sure about the parameters in Mame4all, but there must be some.

Can you try advmame?

What is the USB adapter you're using? I was going to try to configure a Teensy.

@jonnykesh At first I updated the standalone mupen64plus package from source but it didn't solve the problem so I updated the lr-mupen64plus package too.

In reddit someone wrote that it should work from now on with an update from the binarys.
I tried the mupen64plus update from binarys and now it works :D

@chorlton2080 Solved: I discovered the USB cable I was using did not have the data connections wired, must be for fast charging only.
