@ivarwa I have done that multiple times, with different operating systems, NOOBS gave me error writing system partition, but at least it booted then. Now the light doesn't even turn on.

    @windale

You don't have to unzip ADFs. UAE4Arm can load ZIP, ADF, DMS, EXE, ADZ and RP9 formats in the floppy drives.

I have updated the wiki to reflect this.

@dankcushions said in Zero: Exit a game, system freezes, screen is dim, can't SSH in...:

the reason for adding over_voltage is to INCREASE stability; higher clocks demand more power. however it also raises temps...

for shader performance i would have thought only GPU and maybe memory performance overclocks are relevant.

I tried some new settings last night, and ran it for a good solid 20 minutes switching from game to game like I was doing before (where I could ALWAYS get it to freeze at some point) – and it seemed to be good. Think I dropped each "recommended overclock" number by 25 (475, 475, 475), AND changed the two voltages to 3. Think temp was still around 60º which is normal while you're using it I believe. I will test it even more tonight (including writing down the FPS numbers to see how they compare to the full 500 overclock - I think SNES was still down to like 54-57 instead of 60 FPS...which would be fine as long as it doesn't crash).

CRT-Pi Shader performance I gave up on for SNES and Genesis to be honest. It's just too much on the pi Zero even with the full overclock to get to that magic 60 FPS. I'm trying to keep CRT-Pi for NES (as it helps 8-bit look better to a much greater degree than 16-bit IMO), but will have to see if I get any of the weird pausing which plagued the non-overclocked Pi Zero with lr-quicknes + CRT-Pi.

@backstander maybe that's it... i'll have to try that.

curious (but glad) that the script you showed actually worked with single quotes (instead of double quotes), because i couldn't figure out how to get a double quote character out of the keyboard for the life of me :)

@madmodder123 said in List games that are in folders:

How can I have it set up to where the game details are assigned to the folder

While in Emulation Station, highlight a folder, press 'select' and choose the option to set metadata. At the bottom left of the resulting window you'll see the option to scrape information. Once completed, the folder will have whatever game data was chosen during this process.

@Smashpwn As the Pi uses more processor when running an emulator etc, it'll up it's power usage. So when you get the crashes back to ES it makes sense this could be at fault.

Also, the official Pi3 power spec does state that 2.5a is the minimum required.

@Mazda_Speed_120 I just noticed "lag" too in your first post. I missed it before. You don't need to be swapping in and out supplies if you have one that can deliver 2.5A. The "lag" is probably due to an incorrect setup of a particular emulator or emulator choice or refresh rate issue. What emulator are you using? What rom?

@doctorstork I don't think anyone is bullying - perhaps some joking around due to frustration, but this is due to the way you originally posted.

I accept that you were genuinely looking for help, but it did come across originally that you hadn't read any of the documentation. When registering we ask you to read a post which details information you should provide before posting, and you didn't provide any of that.

We also have had a lot of trolling in the past - I appreciate that you were not intentionally trying to be difficult, but it did come across that way earlier on.

We have a lot of people asking the same questions over and over again, and most of the time it is because they have not read the instructions before installing, or the guidance before posting. And probably because they have purchased retropie from an unscrupulous seller who was quick to take their money.

Hang around here, and you will appreciate the time everyone puts in to help others. My post count is in the thousands, and it's all answering user questions, and unfortunately mostly posting the read me first link again and again.

Your are welcome here - but we don't have time to continually re-iterate the information we have already painstakingly documented. Stay a while, perhaps share some of what you have learnt with others, and you will have a better understanding of the project.

    Cheers.

What do you mean when you pick an emulator. You usually pick an emulator after selecting a rom. Do you mean when selecting the system it automatically opens a rom?

    I also use a 2v power supply.

Nothing will work. You need 5V. Do you mean 2A? If so, you need 2.5A for a Pi3. You have failed to provide the essential information listed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first so no further assistance is meaningful or possible.
