    @enderandrew looking on zdoom threads people have had this issue before and had to go back to an older version. The people on windows couldthen just update again and it would work. I had retropie 3.8.1 on my nes cart pi so i just downloaded zdoom without doing an update to the retropie setup script. Then i put that on my main pi. Works. Tried updating after that and no dice. So im just on the older version. Dont bother me though. It is working so i am happy.

    mame4all and pifba should be ok too. Don't expect the libretro arcade cores (lr-fbalpha, lr-fbalpha2012, lr-mame2003, ...) to run at decent speed.

    @BuZz I tried using those instructions to set up the controllers initially and it didn't work.

    @babelfish possible perhaps. Sometimes I have to attempt to connect it a few times, then I'll reboot and it will work again, also good to check against other computers to make sure it's just the pi with issues rather than the ISP.

    Also would be worth checking to see if your power supply is sufficient

    Just a quick update on the situation.
    As barbudreadmon recommended I updated my romset for the games that would run only with the pifba emulator and now I can play them with the lr-fbalpha emulator! Which again doesn't need any further controller settings since I had everything done already.
    It did not solve my issue with the pifba but updating the romset made it unnecessary to fix.

    Thanks again for the quick help. I think I'll go grab a beer and start playing.
    Cheers.

    @bios this would still be worth trying. It is something good to have done anyways. If it doesnt fix that then it still fixed a huge linux issue.

    Yes, I figured that it was the shortcut, but my concern is less about how to edit the files (I've already done that), and more a question of why the folder has suddenly decided not to show up.

    @backstander I did many Windows installation for friends and the first thing I do is install Avira.

    @mikeperalta Boooooo! I love Windows so much that I would donate my heart to Bill Gates if he wanted. Nah just kidding, I'm also a PC gamer games I play cannot run in Linux. Beside I hated Windows Vista so much, just the first day when I used it I was having my lunch and just staring at my computer screen and Windows Vista literally crashed while I didn't even do anything. So it was back to Windows XP again, I used XP until they didn't support it anymore. Now I'm on Windows 7, never had any problem.

    @JordiMayor said in Launch KODI from Emulationstation: OK!!. Quitting from it: KO !!:

    Sure, mate !!! I'll post my kodi log with pastebin link in a few hours. Now I'm going to teach, but I'll do it.
    Thank you very much for your support. I'm very happy with the project and their team. I'll read you later !! ;)

    I have the same problem with my PS4 controller and it will be solved in the future updates. So far I just connect my keyboard to the Pi if I want to use Kodi, not the best solution but it works as a temporary "fix".

    Do I need to unzip the files?

    What's the file extension? How many files are there in the archive file?

    To create backups for my PI I use Win32 disk imager as I already had it installed from when setting up Retropie on to my SD card.

    There are some useful YouTube videos on to how to use the tool but effectively it's just the reverse process of how you got the image of retropie on the SD card but now you are copying an image off and storing it on a PC.

    @johlaf

    There is a very useful YouTube video I used...

    With regards to the coin 1 or additional buttons you want to use, you can use the spare ones you have left over that haven't been allocated. One of the main advantages of emulating is that you can map the controls to what ever output you like. In Mame this is done by hitting tab on a keyboard and input.

    Hope this helps

    @diqits Hello!

    Just set one controller as a multitap device, on the emulator menu.
    Press select and square to get to the menu options, go to input and set the controller type.

    Sorry, i cannot be precise because i do not have here the raspberry pi.

    @dankcushions Thanks for pointing at that topic, it seems that I didn't search for that topic properly.
    I hope that it will get fixed .. even I noticed that the library is actually modified after the Mutlitap support .. it seems it is not a Frontend side has been modified, a ton of codes got change ..

    I need to check every revision to check where exactly the multitap got broke.
