    I can't access it but still I know that You can override it by just copy pasting text on the cell with data validation :/
    Still just disabling any editing option will work fine. I don't trust any of those sheets but for me they are a list of compatible roms.

    @batesman the list file is if you want a custom set of choices. You can manually specify which images you want it pull instead of the whole folder

    @wropzter are you able to help a newbie out here... How do I install this? I've spent 2 days trying to get mine to work through xboxdrv running into same issues you had. This would be a life saver!

    @actnash Also, just wanted to say that for the pi 1, quicknes and pocket SNES are the two emulators that are working great for me. Yoshi's Island runs almost full speed, with occasional stutters, but super mario world runs flawlessly. For NES, OpenGL driver, max swapchain= 1, video hard sync on =0, and frame delay=8. I got a NES classic for Christmas, but with these settings on the pi, it's very hard to tell the difference between the two. Graphics, input latency, and everything else is very comparable which is AWESOME. For SNES, Max swapchain=2 and frame delay=4. Turbo overclock makes all the difference for SNES.

    @SohailNassiri No problem. Again. I'm just sitting watching YouTube and doing not very much. Happy to help. Most people on this forum are more than willing to help out someone struggling but they do expect you to read the resources available and to provide all the info needed. Simply because everyone's set-up is so different and there are so many variables that it can just turn into a guessing game sometimes. Anyway, good luck. If you encounter any further issues unrelated to installation I would advise you to search the forum first then start a new thread if you can't find a solution.

    @smiler79 It shouldn't be. Is the PSU ~2.5Amps? Is it a hardwired dedicated PSU or a plug and USB cable combo? Some USB cables just cannot transfer enough power as they are designed for phones and tablets that draw a lot less juice.

    @sumerian

    I could use some help getting to the log files and seeing what it says is happening at the launch of the title.

    After trying to run a PC Engine game, have a look at the Runcommand debugging log file:
    /dev/shm/runcommand.log

    Also are you trying to run a CD based game or a ROM? If you're running a CD based game make sure all the files are unzipped (& unrar'd). I think there is .bin & .cue files. Look inside the .cue file and make sure the filename case is the same as the .bin's filename. Linux filenames are case sensitive!

    For example, say the bin filename is "Gate of Thunder.bin" look inside the "Gate of Thunder.cue" and make sure the case matches:

    FILE "Gate of Thunder.bin" BINARY

    Most of the ones I've downloaded off the net have something like "GATE OF THUNDER.BIN" which does not match!

  • Using Waveshare 4inch RPi LCD (A) with Retropie

    Quick update:

    Managed to make it run a lot smoother using those parameters:

    dtoverlay=waveshare35a:rotate=270,swapxy=1,speed=27000000,fps=60.

    The higher the speed, the better it displays, but anything above 27000000 f'd up the colors badly for me.
    Definitely playable for anyone wanting to use this screen, but it still drops some frames, mainly during cinematics and stuff. Personally, Gonna try out a 5" HDMI screen, don't wanna compromise on the gaming experience too much.

    Most of what you need should be outlined here: https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/retroarch-configuration

    It goes over controls and talks about the defaults. Look for the video Tutorial links. There is one on testing joysticks that shows haoe to test joypads and get button numbers. they are done better than I can explain in words.

    @davesMODs ah. Yes that's a common issue. I forgot about that one. Would have helped I'd you posted the information requested on the read this first page, would have identified the problem immediately.

    Install Kodi 17 manually or wait til Kodi 17 stable is released with retropie.

    @herb_fargus As posted above, I had tried both the automatic and manual methods with neither of them working. I managed to get it sorted out now though because it seemed like there was a permissions issue that would not allow me to run the RetroPie script from the USB pen from within OSMC.

    I ended up keeping all data and scripts on the SD card and mounting the roms folder to the USB drive and having it work that way.

    @Luca1 you do need to go into retropie menu and go into run command and disable joystick so you would need a keyboard to change video mode and emulator. You MUST do that before this next step. To remove the retropie menu you need to go to /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/gamelists/ and find the folder "retropie" and put something like an exclamation point in it. So it will look something like "!retropie" now they cant get into anything they shouldnt. Just remember once you set it into kids mode you can get it back to normal mode with the konami code by pressing up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right b, a, start.
