    More info-

I've confirmed holding the buttons down works in general. I played GIJoe and got the auto-fire and just held the button to get it to continually fire. So it works in theory and works on my cabinet.

Could it be specific in some way to MK2 - nvram, cfg or DIP switch settings?

I'm also not insane, right? Holding block in MK2 should keep the character's block held?

Just noticed I have checked the gz file hash while it was being downloaded (again) and checked the img file from a previous download.

I re-downloaded it using wget and got the right checksum. Thanks!

  • Problem with loading some WHD games on Amiberry

@nemo93 Some games I have to click on it in the Retropie menu to load, then adjust the configuration in the menu such as change the Kickstart Rom or Chipset, then click Reset to get it to load. I've tried the Save Configuration option and it adds and entry to the list that appears under Configuration but this doesn't seem to save things like the Chipset or Mhz etc. Is there something I manually need to edit for this? E.g. I got Super Skidmarks CD32 bin/cue files working but for some reason I have to change the Kickstart Rom to CD32 every time to load it up. Is there a quick way to save this kind of setting?

I can see a User had this same problem in May: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/25809/is-ogg-music-file-support-broken-in-lr-tyrquake/2

I have put the music files in the correct place so far as I can tell.

This is what the retropie guide says:

    id1/
    ├── pak0.pak ## shareware data
    ├── pak1.pak ## registered data
    ├── s0.sav
    ├── s1.sav
    ├── music/
    │ ├── track02.ogg
    │ ├── ...
    │ └── track11.ogg

This is the structure that lr-tyrquake has set up, with two id1 directories.

    id1/
    ├── pak0.pak ## shareware data
    ├── pak1.pak ## registered data
    ├── id1/
    │ ├── config.cfg
    │ ├── save files
    │ └────music/

That is where I have the music placed currently but I have tried it in the other directories also. The permissions are 0777, and the format is .ogg as the guide states.

    Any help appreciated.

Edit: I've got this working now, I have .ogg files and .MP3 files in home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/quake/id1/sound/cdtracks and they are picked up in Darkplaces.

I've also got lr-tyrquake working, the same files in home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/quake/id1/music

I don't know if the original .ogg files I had were bad, or if having the .MP3s in there makes a difference, but it is working whatever the problem was.

The Sharp x68000 is a great platform for some real nice hidden gems. I just wish the emulators were better done with a more professional setup like the wonderful, FS-UAE emulator for Amiga computers. Because too many Sharp x68000 games require multiple disc and that part is not handled as well in these emulators.

@Dinierto Did you get an answer on this? I have the same problem.

I can't even get sound/cdtracks to get picked up by Darkplaces. Which folder did you put that within - mine is sitting in /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/quake/id1/sound/cdtracks - but I've tried /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/quake/id1/id1/sound/cdtracks and /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/quake/sound/cdtracks also

Did you have to do anything else for that to work?

Edit: I've got this working now, I have .ogg files and .MP3 files in home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/quake/id1/sound/cdtracks and they are picked up in Darkplaces.

I've also got lr-tyrquake working, the same files in home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/quake/id1/music

I don't know if the original .ogg files I had were bad, or if having the .MP3s in there makes a difference, but it is working whatever the problem was.

Press Start on your controller and choose Other Settings. There you are.

What model of SNES USB controller ?
If you use jstest to test your controller, are the D-Pad left/right inputs recognized separately, or they overlap other buttons ?

You can re-configure the autostart options from the RetroPie-Setup - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/FAQ/#how-do-i-boot-to-the-desktop-or-kodi.

@DavidDraper the setting you're looking for is aspect ratio, and you want it set to the default of 'core provided'. it's in the video settings.

however, i would caution against setting things via retroarch unless you know exactly what you're doing.

Ah, got it. I thought my method might be out of date but I'm new to digging this deep, and it's a frustrating but fun learning process. Thank you a ton for the help, I'll check that out once I get the chance today.

Any idea why the cfg file is being ignored?

If you're running a custom image, then we don't know how it was modified or configured from a stock RetroPie image.
