    Hey,

    it's me again.
    I guess I am a bit closer. I was wondering why my custom gamepad driver which generates a uinput device is not working. By incident I started the game directly without the start script, so I could see the information output. One of the very first lines was "couldn't find keyboard event file". I recognized that my custom driver creates a eventX in /dev/input but not in the subdirectories by-id or by-path.
    So I tried to create a symbolic link in by-id, pointing at my event.

    Now the keyboard-emulating gamepad worked in the game!

    Playing that a bit further I went back to my gamepad driver which behaves like a gamepad without keyboard emulation. Running on top xboxdrv with mouse and keyboard emulation. again with a symlink in by-id.

    Now the regular gamepad-driver with xboxdrv on top worked in the game!

    Only point is, that no regular keyboard is allow to be connected (maybe be game only uses the first keyboard?).

    Didn't realise it was quite so simple. Updated to 2.9.1 and can see the extra setting within the screensaver settings. All working perfectly.

    Should it help anyone in the future the steps I went through were

    In emulationstation, go to Tools > RetroPie Setup.
    Once in, select Update RetroPie-Setup script and select yes to update it.
    Now select Manage packages, followed by Manage core packages, select emulationstation and finally Update from binary.
    Once that's done restart EmulationStation

    Can you show a listing of the ROM folder on the Pi, where you copied the arcade ROMs ? If they're not in .zip format, then they will not show up.

    @barbosa22 there was an update to lr-PCsx where it seems it now emulates a standard, analog, or DualShock controller. If you originally setup to use and analog controller, Change it to DualShock. Also some games require it to be set to standard, especially older games. Ran Into this a week ago where Medal of Honor would not work after starting a game.

    I was able to get jzintv installed and running. The only problem I have now is I can't get it to display with a 4:3 ratio. I have used the below configuration file on my Raspberry Pi 3 and it works great. If I launch Emulation Station from the Buster Desktop, then jzintv will display the correct 4:3 ratio in a window. However if I exit out of Buster and run Emulationstation by itself, jzintv will automatically stretch to fill the screen. I've tried making display adjustments in Retroarch, but it doesn't seem to affect it. Other emulators like Stella, Nestopia, and a few others, maintain the 4:3 ratio automatically. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this problem with jzintv or some other emulators?

    jzintv = "/opt/retropie/emulators/jzintv/bin/jzintv -p /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS --gfx-palette=/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/intellivision/composite_colors.gfx -z1430x1070,8 -b10 -q -v1 -s0 --kbdhackfile=/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/intellivision/hackfile.cfg %ROM%"
    default = "jzintv"

    @mitu thanks yeah I did a small Overclock just boosting it a small amount and it killed my Argon case motherboards BUT I do think it was dead out the box honestly because it has a fan built into the case and I never heard it ramp up on start up which it should have done, I've ordered a new case and will update everything first before even attempting another Overclock I think

    It's a known issue on the Pi 4, the controls in DraStic are not working properly. We don't have a solution at the moment, but we're looking into it.

    @inolen Yeah I though it would "just work" when I plugged it up but it wasn't. If I had thought to go to Redream website to see the keyboard mapping, that would saved myself a lot of time. All other emulators just worked (minus Daphne). Once I saw that mapping, I figured it out. It should have just used the mapping from emulationstation but whatever, it works now.

    @Twerkem It was fixed a little while ago, that's why I asked to update the script again, there was nothing wrong with your setup/configuration.

    @fullauto2009 An upgrade in place is not recommended, as it's not supported even by Raspbian. Note that attractmode is not compatible yet with the Pi4.

    @JL-2600 UPDATE: I ending up trying to update to 4.6 again, but this time it updated only RetroPie and nothing else. Everything seems to be working just fine this time!

    When I originally tried the update a few days ago, it also updated the emulators, so perhaps it was one of those emulator updates that was causing the problem.

    Thanks!

    Hi Dank. I just figured it out.

    I started Retroarch, went to settings --> input --> then looked at Input User 1 Binds and compared to Input User 2 Binds. Both had the same Controller (Mad Catz Chun Li Fight Stick) listed, so I pulled in a secondary controller and mapped it accordingly.

    The problem is solved. Now I have one other question I'll have to ask in the a new topic after I search more.

    Thanks!

    Did that, but nothing changed.
    I have no idea where else to look.
    Talk about frustrating.
