    Thanks again, @mitu!

    @mitu said in update Retropie 4.6 or Raspbian (old) image:

    I'm not sure why you'd want to downgrade to 4.6 is you already have a 4.7 system (even if on Stretch) ? If the upgrade that broke your install is from the Raspbian updates, then I don't see why the RetroPie version would make a difference.

    The reasons are complex, as the upgrade to 4.7 both introduced and removed some bug symptoms I was trying to debug on something else I am working on, and others report on RPi3 B+ stretch and RetroPie 4.6. And now I’m back to v4.4 from backup on the same SD card. I’d like to get back to the v4.6 state everything was in... ;-)

    I don’t know for certain if the OS upgrade that broke other things came from “apt-get -y dist-upgrade” in the RetroPie upgrade script, or if I ran an upgrade my self.

    Anyways, I guess I have to accept my losses, and let this be yet another life lesson on taking an image backup before making bigger changes. Think I got a little carried away in debugging mode... ;-)

    This is not guaranteed to work, since some of the emulators have been updated and - as a consequence - some of the scripts in RetroPie have been updated to support it.

    Ok now I think I understand better. The complete v4.6 “state” was lost with the removal of the binaries, and is not maintained with information about commit history for external and other source files to compile from the 4.6 install script?

    I guess I will use this opportunity to upgrade to buster and RetroPie 4.7 on this RPi3 B+.
    This day would’ve come eventually, anyways, and it worked like a charm on my RPi4.

    Thanks for a great product and the support!

    @escc1986 Hi,
    I'm in the same situation as you... I would love to play games like Time Crisis with my DolphinBar and my Wiimote as "the Light Gun" in the DIY Arcade machine that I'm currently building, but... PCSX-Rearmed doesn't detect my Wiimote as "the Light Gun"... Only recognizes standard controls, nothing more... It's very frustrating...
    Hope someone could do a simple and easy to follow tutorial on how to make the Light Guns to work with this core, and also make sure that all of the other games still work the same as they do right now with the unmodified core already available from the RetroPie Setup.
    Hope that this topic gets more atention.

    @arcuza hi, you can add this configuration to config.txt:
    hdmi_ignore_cec=1

    Special kind of stick, for controling movement whilst shooting in another direction (example ikari warrior),

    Ah, OK. I learned something here!

    "Eierlegende Wollmilchsau"

    Hahahahaha! I learned another thing today! Yes, I totally understand.

    P.P.S.: Seeing such Wiki Articles now(adays) are somewhat frustrating me: Analog-Stick - sigh...

    That article leaves a lot to be desired. Lots of words, and yet says very little that's useful!

    I may take another pass at searching for details on the UltraStik 360 + RetroPie, and think more carefully whether it's something I might want to try — or not. Part of me, at this point, wants to just load MAME directly on something like an Intel NUC, running Windows, and call it done. I really only use the arcade functionality of RetroPie, and perhaps another platform would be better suited to what I actually want.

    But... The tiny little Raspberry Pi is appealing for many reasons — cost among them — so who knows.

    Thanks for replying.

    @stevecrawf0rd those files found on whdload.de are just installers, you need to find another source for the actual games. These games are the ones you should put in the amiga folder.

    Thanks @thorr69

    I found deleting the RTB files in:
    retropie/configs/amiga/amiberry/whdboot/save-data/Kickstarts/

    Then restarting sorted out the issues I was having. I think there were some leftovers from the other files causing a conflict perhaps. Sorted now though.

    @mitu I sincerely apologize I assumed my message was clear. The buttons were mapped but they were mapped to the joystick and the D-pad, etc. However, I was able to figure it out this morning. I keep trying to change the controller config under Quick Menu and then Controls but it is actually under Settings and then Input. I sincerely apologize for the confusion. I really appreciate your time.

    @krystalis I thought it might be more than just that diagram. I did have to do a minor edit to the config file for the controller, but I can't remember what it was. I hope you get it sorted.

    Finally i found a really easy solution We Just need to press

    Ctrl+Alt+F2, login, then write emulationstation, to go back Quit Emulationstation and press Ctrl+Alt+F1.

    The mouse works like a charm in atomiswave and mame, just put the game, go to Retroarch, Quick menu, Settings, Input p1, Move the mouse Index and the mouse to see it, no need udev nothing! Just that. I try to logout but now Raspberry pi OS have a Login Graphical screen, so we can't logout and run emulationstation just from a desktop Shortcut. But is a solution to shoot in games.

    the standard for fight sticks is

    Y X L B A R

    this should get you good defaults in arcade cores, a sensible layout in console cores.
