Copied from the Help and Support Thread:

Here are some images I took of my system. One day, I will clean up the wiring a bit, as it was one really organized and neat but during iterations of adding to it it's gotten sloppy again.

After wiring the LEDs and the fan up to a USB connector together, I now get the yellow lightning bolt in the upper right corner of my screen, as seen in the video. Not sure why, the power supply is putting out more than enough power. I may disconnect the fan from it, as it's technically a 12v fan that was originally wired directly up to the 12v system. I am not sure I'll ever need the fan anyway, just wanted it as a precaution.

This first image shows the guys of the system. You can see the PI, the usb hub and the original 12v power supply from the original xbox.

This next image shows the custom connectors I made for the back. I cut out three holes for an RCA to RCA splicer, and hot glued an HDMI adapter, the RCA splicer, and a cat5 to cat5 connector to the back of the xbox chassis.

This is the back of the system, with the main power on/off switch, and the hdmi, rca, and ethernet ports.

This picture shows the front connectors. I took out the original ones, and replaced them with USB extension cables. They plug into a 4-port wired USB hub inside the system. (The hub is powered by the power supply). The eject button acts as a hard reset in the case of system freeze (Its connected to the 'Run' jumpers on the PI)

The power button acts as the power on/off to put the system in halt mode, or wake it up from halt mode (jumping pins 5 and 6).

The circle of light around the 'eject' button lights up a neon blue color.

This is the finished product-ish. Still some tweaks to do, but it's for the most part there.

And finally, a video of the boot sequence. I need to adjust some things so that it boots faster, as I don't like the 10-15 second black screen at the start, and the long wait between the boot sequence and the ES loading screen.

I am also working on a custom theme, which I have a screenshot of here:

ALSO: Please do not pay attention to the stuff all over the coffee table. That's currently my work-space, and glass is very hard to keep clean :\

Another added to the collection this evening. Quite a poor quality UK scan, so pleased with how it came out:

I recreated the logo in Illustrator too. I did create a second vector to use as a white drop shadow on the logo, as I was working on the logo from a US box originally-didn't realise there was no white drop shadow on the UK box until I'd finished. I added the drop shadow filter in PS, which doesn't make it as dark as the original as you can still see some of the white, but I don't think it looks too bad. And, you don't really see the box blown up full screen anyway, so I'm not too fussed. I dropped the really badly placed screen shot too, it's not uniform to the other UK boxes and looks so out of place-i think it looks better without it.

It's not 100% accurate-time will tell if I can live with the differences or not!

    :: Edit::

Yeah, couldn't leave it. Done it with the black drop shadow-I think it works better:

@Freakadude Thanks for the feedback but I didn't make the shorter version of the song. I got the shorter version from some youtuber but the visuals I did make so I can't really do anything about the song transition. Sorry.

@MadRikXIV have you tried rotating your heatsink to get your wifi working? The direction it is facing can have an effect on the wifi because the heatsink acts as an antenna. Taking it out of the acrylic case will help some too.

Based on bitmaps from game flyer and other original artwork.
Only the logo was converted to SVG as the rest of the images are already very good quality.
Mainly a matter of finding the right artwork, cutting out and positioning the single images.

@smartroad It's something that I haven't seen anyone else do when making a custom case (not counting ones inside bigger cases like a NES/SNES etc). It's something I'm definitely going to keep in mind for if I ever make a custom case of my own.

@EctoOne Correct. Once you upgrade, if you are using a theme that doesn't support video, it should use the detailed view instead. Hopefully the carousel changes will land soon.

For our http://gamepieadvance.com/ project, we are trying to get to a build that would require NO soldering. We have a plan for that, but it's not yet proven.

In the meantime, our current DIY kit requires fairly minimal soldering. You need to solder a header onto your Pi Zero, and you can choose to solder a wire depending on how you want to hook up batteries.

Most of the project is hacking on plastic with an Xacto Knife.

edit /opt/retropie/configs/all/runcommand-onstart.sh nano /opt/retropie/configs/all/runcommand-onstart.sh` paste the following into script (it checks if the system is psx, if so, play the mp4): [[ $1 == *psx* ]] && omxplayer -o both -b --layer 10001 /path/to/your/ps1.mp4 make it executable. chmod a+x /opt/retropie/configs/all/runcommand-onstart.sh

That is the powerblock shield. Here is the link for more info: http://blog.petrockblock.com/2015/07/04/powerblock-another-power-switch-for-the-raspberry-pi/

Powering off the pi will be a safe shutdown, it will invoke sudo shutdown -h now. You just have to push the button to power on/off. No need to shut down ES first.

@FlyingTomahawk yeah i have bought a lot of video game stuff straight from japan. I never paid attention to the labels though as i never thought there was an issue.
