Is there any reason that I wouldn't be able to solder a female USB to the Raphnet board in order to fit it flush inside the SNES pad?

You should absolutely be able to do that.

@caver01 thanks for such a quick reply, I thought this might be the case, and it would make sense to do the re-wiring to suit UAE4arm, before re-mapping MAME using your config suggestion!

      @Everett1954

I can always ask a generic controller question.

You can do so and someone may be able to help. However, you'll always be working at a disadvantage in regard to troubleshooting any problems going forward, as you will never be sure exactly what was changed in the image that could be a contributing factor. This will not only exhaust your own time, but also that of others trying to help you.

I've tried a couple things since I posted, but with no luck. Here's what I've done to hopefully weed out the issue...

I've followed the instructions in this thread to add Joystick Selection to the RetroPie Menu. I configured the all four controller ports for XBOX 360 controllers solely for N64.

The back out hotkey (select+start) works on the controller, but nothing else. Oddly enough, all of the buttons on the wireless keyboard work in the games. I've rebooted with just the controller connected, and still no luck.

What possible steps do I have from here?

It's not part of RetroPie-Setup (yet?).

We discuss about joystick-selection tool in this thread: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/1167/here-is-a-way-to-select-joystick-for-players-1-4-global-or-emu-specific

When attempting to compile using Debian I was getting kernel panics and references to null pointers in memory. After trying a different SD Card, Cables, and power sources everything has only began to work once I've bought a new Pi.

I can only assume I've got a faulty unit?

Regardless I'm now able to run RetroPie on the exact same setup (with the Pi swapped out).

@meleu ok I have worked it out,
if you set the curl option as -0 (number zero) then you get screens of code, which to someone who doesnt know what they are doing looks correct.
if you set it as -o (lowercase letter o) then you just get the data transfer specs, and the next stage works.
I have now installed it successfully, perhaps you could put a note in your readme for newbies like me so that they dont make that mistake?

Can a programmer possible explain what this means. It is beyond my ability to decipher:

It is related to my problem of the joystick not working while the button do work with my Mayflash F300

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Use hori fighting stick mini 3. 2. Try using the stick. 3. Does not work,

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Stick working.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Rasbian, mame4all compiled from change set: ea85746014e2c2a85665f2a4d4a4b87e819a5287.

Please provide any additional information below. I made a patch that works for me.

Thanks so much for this! It worked great for my same stick.

      How I used this patch:

--from the console on the pi mkdir mame4all cd mame4all git init git pull git://git.code.sf.net/p/mame4allpi/code/ --download patch and copy into mame4all directory (I used WinSCP and had renamed mine sticks.patch) git apply sticks.patch make --after quite a while it should finish and you'll have a file "mame" right there in your mame4all directory, cp it to where ever your mame launches from, I am using retropie so I: cd /opt/retropie/emulators/mame4all and then: sudo cp /home/pi/mame4all/mame mame

I went with the 8BitDo FC30 Pro and NES30 PRO
I really like the controller, but I didn't realize it would be so small (it is actually the same spacial size as a WII PRO controller, but the buttons are smaller)

The only problem I have.. is I think games are recognizing it as 2nd Player.
I was using a PS4 controller before, and just plugged in and set up a FC30 PRO, but when I start any game up.. it won't let me hit start... yet it works perfectly in the RetroPie screen.
