Well, first you have a lot of addons installed that might be related to "piracy", I don't care about it, but that might cause problems, especially because many of them are done by people with little experience in coding and/or with malicious intents, be carefull about what you add to Kodi.
Second, you have a lot of errors (besides the ones from the addons I mentioned above) that Kodi cannot read or says that the file is read only:

1:43:30.972 T:1631396784 ERROR: SQL: [Textures13.db] Attempt to write a readonly database

This generally indicates that your system suffered file corruption, or most likely, your microSD card is broken or faulty.
This isn't easy to fix, and is impossible if your card is broken.
Try to move or delete your Kodi settings (/home/pi/.kodi) to start fresh with default settings.

I gonna think about it! Cheap solution vs. convenience. ;)

No apology necessary, it is kinda related.
Personally I use the Yatse app for Android to control Kodi, so if there was a way to get THAT working in ES to (just purely for easy menu navigation instead of reaching for a controller) then I'd be all over it.

@clyde okay right but a full grown standalone USB2 transfers up to 40 MB/s that is 4 times faster as your LAN.

How fast is a Raspberry with his shared USB Controller? 10MB/s? 15? Didn't test but a NAS is dedicated for file moving and if the Pie 4 got some interface upgrades it is maybe as fast as your 2011 Synology (cool device BTW with the best UI I have ever seen)

I was interested on Milhouse build because it's best way to play 10-bit x265 videos on raspberry pi 3.
I installed it on a new sd card but they don't smooth enough, so i think I'll give up on trying playing 10-bit x265 videos

@rascas the issue was one of my controllers that was plugged into the pi.. no idea why but once i unplugged that one from the pi it worked.

You can install one or multiple PVRs like explained on the RetroPie wiki, but you have to restart Kodi after install for them to appear in "My addons". Then you can go there and enable the one you want, only one can be enable at one time. Then configure that one in their respective settings. More info here:

This isn't about RetroPie directly, but it is about EmulationStation. The most up-to-date version of that seems to be managed by the RetroPie organization, which is why I posted here.

Thanks for the pointers, everyone. I don't have much time to dig much more into this right now, but if I end up finding a good solution I'll post back on the forums in case anyone else is interested in something similar.

The ports folder was missing so I copied it from my USB to my network location and now I can start Kodi again
