@BobHarris Of course they need to read first, minimum requirements are MAME romset from at least 2006 (advance mame linux) and a FBA romset with CPS3 games runs well.

Retro CM3 can be my first option for arcade only games and I'll be ok, and then wait for CM4 for better performance and add home port consoles of PSP and Dreamcast home and their based arcade boards.

I can wait for Raspberry Pi 4 Module in mid 2020 at least.

Nintendo Switch Lite its a plan B one...also I will buy an ipega with gamepad to make my recent smartphone or my 2017 one looks like a Vita but with Android.

You can use a simple python script to catch GPIO input presses and translate them to volume change commands. Here is an example on how to do that - https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=222763.

@notthesame I can't believe that worked, you are a godsend. I'd also like to add a few details:

After pressing Start and Y, the LEDs start to rotate from left to right. After that, you hold pair for 2 seconds, the LEDs go off for a second, and then they start to rotate again.

At this point you need to go through the Bluetooth pairing process again (and if your controller is already paired, you should un-pair it before you re-pair it) but you do NOT need to set up the udev rule. All you need to do is reboot and configure the input like normal.

I think this should be added to the documentation.

@Efriim Doing this step by step only:

      https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/16145/retropie-upgrading-raspbian-jessie-to-stretch

After finished there are some errors in libraries that made crash emulationstation but they are easy to solve. Once it runs very well including with overclocking. With this fan “Noctua Premium Fan, Brown, NF-A4X10-FLX 5V” I could overclock and no problems.

@Brunnis said in No Raspberry Pi 4 in 2019.:

I'll be getting the 2GB version. I just don't see the point in getting the 4GB version unless you're going to run desktop type workloads or know, specifically, that your workload is memory intensive.

More RAM is also useful for speeding up repeated hdd/ssd/sd access, since Linux uses unused RAM for buffering the file system. You can see this via the command free -h ("h" means "human readable" for more human-friendly numbers). Example from my Laptop:

      total used free shared buff/cache available Mem: 7,7G 2,2G 2,5G 405M 2,9G 4,8G

Although the "free" memory seems to be only 2.5 GB, temporary buffers take 2.9 GB. The real amount of free RAM is 4.8 GB, since the system clears the buffered data as soon as the memory is needed elsewhere. (Don't ask me why the numbers don't seem to add up perfectly, I don't know the actual math behind it.)

@Run-the-Jewels If you have the Pimoroni controller (X Hat) then you should do what I did, see above. Some additional information is on the Pimoroni forums, see https://forums.pimoroni.com/t/x-hat-retropie-coin-button-exits-game/9633.

If you have another controller, then this might not be the same problem. If this is the case, then I suggest you start a new thread, with detailed descriptions of your hardware, software versions, log file entries etc.

      Hello all,
sorry to be reviving an old post, but I find myself in the same situation 3 years later and I cant seem to find a solution that keeps up with the changes through time.
I have a Raspberry pi B+ and are running Retropie v.4.7.
I have been able to use a DS3 controller since I setup my raspberry pi with a bluetooth dongle, which I had paired on my laptop initially with the SCPtoolkit. So that was plug and play at the time and didnt even realise this was a complicated matter.
A few weeks ago I decided to get another controller and dongle to do the same for player 2, which obviously did not work.

      I have :
tried to pair them separately and together,
tried the ps3 controller drivers with both original and clone options
      tried the sixaxis option aswell.
My results where mixed, but the botom line is that the best I could get was to have one controller through the bluetooth dongle and one on a USB.

*Should also mention that they both work on my laptop with a single bluetooth dongle, setup with SCPtoolkit.

I can see that you have suggested 1 option that I would like to try, but have failed to do so on my own, either because of my inexperience or because the instructions are outdated.I need to check if by disabling the wifi it allows both of them to connect and if it does to setup your script in the menu so that I can toggle it.

      When I press f4 and type wget http://raw.githubusercontent.com/crcerror/RetroPie-Shares/master/rfkill_wifi_dialog.sh -O "/home/pi/RetroPie/retropiemenu/Wifi Switch.sh"
It says the directory or file does not exist. Now I can see the actual link of the .sh file on github is different that what is suggested, but I did try to replace it with no success.
I also tried to change the location file to "/home/pi/RetroPie/configs/Wifi Switch.sh" hoping that by placing it there might still work but it doesnt.
Lastly I feel that there must be something that I am missing sicne there are no other solutions out there available but also not many others discussing it, which makes me wonder has this been solved in a simple matter and I am just blind?!

Thank you for your time and sorry for the long post, I hope you can help me.

After giving up with every option I decided to try and type that all over again, seems it was a mistype...:S
Anyway I can confirm this works for 2 ps ds3 controllers!!! Now I am off to show off my skills on CTR to my partner!!!

      Thank you for your support!!!

The finally solution for me was manage the relationship 1:1, one speaker with one dongle (USB). For spread the sound on all speaker i used an virtual audio card with "paprefs". Maybe we'll see this skills on new Bluetooth versions.

@lostless said in PS1 - Medal Of Honor UnderGround - can not change controller config:

@smokingman you might have to enable an analog controller in the tetrarch options. Lr-pcsx defaults to a standard controller without analog by default. Which is good, cause many early ps1 games don't work in analog mode.

@smokingman said in PS1 - Medal Of Honor UnderGround - can not change controller config:

      @lostless
      ah ok, tnx...
how to to enable an analog controller in the tetrarch options ? XD
-> select+y in order to open the retroarch menu.... and then wath ? :-)
... and how to reput the emulator in default mode after played with medal of honor ? (or it will do it authomatically launching another Rom ?)

Fixed: I downloaded Satan Paint (spaint.exe) and dos4gw.exe (to run spaint.exe under DOS). I used DOSBox to run spaint.exe and I created the .pcx (blank image) that were missing in the icons.spe file (from the nums0016.pcx to the nums0045.pcx), so I created a new icons.spe file and now it works correctly .
Here is the modified icons.spe file to work: https://github.com/Xenoveritas/abuse/files/2264348/icons.zip
