@mitu Update! I found out that I only get the retroarch problem when I use the ipega controller. I never get problem with any other controllers. Using another controller, a managed to get my ipega to work... success!

This is my workaround:-

my /opt/retropie/configs/all/autostart.sh:-

python ~/MFRC522-python/rfidlaunch.py &
emulationstation

my rfidlaunch.py contains:
subprocess.call("/home/pi/nesmario.sh &" , shell=True)
when a corresponding RFID card is detected

this nesmario.sh
contains :
/opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh 0 SYS nes '/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/nes/Super Mario Bros..zip'
emulationstation

this means my RFID script runs all the time, when the RFID card is detected in emulationstation it kills emulationstation, runs the rom as user pi and when the rom has quit relaunches emulationstation.

@spudsmctoole make sure that folder has all the correct permissions. I put my screenshot folder in /home/pi/ and it works best there. Had issues in another location I tried.

So my problem was fixed... I had to set a hotkey up to open retro arch and configure the controller while a n64 rom is running... that fixed my issue .

@dankcushions I did try with MAME2003plus and Operation thunderbolt and the issue persisted, don't know if other games are fixed.

I may have broken this myself in the beginning when i was messing around alot with RetroArch and the controllers.

Looks like a custom color palette. Which emulator ? What RA version ? Please add the info requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

It worked. Maybe I had set it to save config on exit writing that file. Then it was still there even when I changed this setting!

Pasting that did the trick. Thanks a million.

The repository for libretro/mame merges the new MAME code in usually within a week or 2 of a new MAME release.

So the current lr-mame code includes all the mame0.200, changes in mame 0.201 will be added in in about a week or so (ish)
