If I were to hazard a guess, I would say that changing over to a USB boot means that your USB ports are staying powered on when your system isn't running. You should probably just unplug the power source after shutdown.

@rubberdinghy You'll need to ask the seller to provide the Raspberry Pi version - https://www.lexaloffle.com/pico-8.php?#getpico8 - and then follow the instruction on their site to add a new system in Emulationstation.

@krullbeast more specifically, can i map the nunchuck(as a directional pad also) C and Z buttons as select and start in emulation station or retroarch AND also have two seperate A and B buttons wired to GPIO pins on my Pi 3b? will they all communicate with the Pi? or will the A and B buttons not work after enabling 12c serial at start up?

i am very new to this, please forgive me if i sound stupid.
and thank you for any advice
this is a rough schematic of what i'm trying to build

I know it is an old topic, but I really like Space Oddity theme and I cant disable OMXplayer, so I changed some values at the theme file and this was the result:
      WhatsApp Image 2019-05-20 at 18.12.25.jpeg

I changed pos and origin values, and replaced maxSize for size. You can see the file and change it by yourself, or just download and overwrite it

      Changes:

@Puchi25 said in Hiding Emulators Without Deleting Roms (Help!):

I've got game collection art grouping the console games together and now i'm trying to hide the original emulators without deleting any of the games inside of them.

This won't work with custom collections. To quote @pjft, the developer of custom collections (original post here):

The custom collections rely on games that ES knows about.
ES only knows about games that it loads.
ES only loads games from systems that it knows.
ES only knows about systems defined in es_systems.cfg.

In short, removing a system from es_systems.cfg will remove games for that system from a custom collection.

If you wish to create a collection for console games, then you will need to manually create a new system in ES. Full documentation can be found at: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Add-a-New-System-in-EmulationStation/

This process involves creating a custom es_systems.cfg file so please follow the advice given by @quicksilver. Adding a new system in the default es_systems,cfg in /etc/emulationstation means that should you install an emulator at a later date, the file could be overwritten, removing the new system.

Keep us updated if you get the Japanese PS1 version of 'Kuon no Kizuna' working or not.

I actually booted up the game, got the to menu, but no matter what I choose (there only 2 entries + a 'Disable Rumble' entry) there's some warning or info message that I can't understand and then it goes back to the main menu. I didn't test with changing the game region from the core options, there might be some DRM/region protection message that I can't understand :).

I too found this arcade 3D print and had huge problems getting the diplay to work. Thanks to this old post I got it working after all. For all of you who also stumble over this post the code that has to be executed has changed a bit: "sudo apt-get install build-essential python-dev python-smbus python-pip python-pil python-numpy git" otherwise it aborts with an error.
Thanks watson49 for posting your solution. I wouldn't have been able to do it otherwise!

@Winklepicker You should be able to edit it with any basic text editor. Personally, I make a copy of the file i want to edit onto my windows computer and then make my changes and drop it back in place when I'm done.

Don't forget that linux is case sensitive when changing paths.

Well and I used this: https://github.com/tasanakorn/rpi-fbcp
Just followed the instructions and it worked perfectly (kind of).
And if I change the resolution, it looks the same. So I have no idea how to fix it.
Just for you to know: It would be perfect, if I fix this. The delay is not too high and it looks smooth.
