      @icyLoad
      I assume you mean the N64 version and it runs pretty will on my Pi 3 without any overclocking using the mupen64plus-GLideN64 emulator. I haven't tried it on any of the other emulators.

      Here is the N64 Compatibility Sheet:

      FYI I have same problem but in RetroArch that recently gained atari800 support, different platform - NVIDIA Shield TV (Android). I have decided to file a bug report at: https://github.com/atari800/atari800/issues/13

      @ibonihs I have Elevation Action Returns working in AdvMAME v0.94 though I wouldn't say the audio is 100%. Not sure which version you are using but the audio is poor in v1.4.

      I have NBA Jam and Mortal Kombat running without issue in mame4all-pi.

      MK2 and Shinobi run fine in lr-Mame2003. It's worth re-testing with the right PSU.

      Old topic I know, but I created it so live with the bump! lol

      So my 16-year old cousin brought his Pi Zero I built for him over to his buddies house and the sound wouldn't work. Regular consumer-style like 50" flatscreen (he didn't remember the brand/model), with the same cable he uses at home. After my other cousin had an issue with sound on an older ~32" Sony I've used hdmi_drive=2 on all of these. Any suggestions on what to try?

      The elinux wiki says to also try adding:

      hdmi_force_hotplug=1 hdmi_force_edid_audio=1

      but I honestly have no clue what those do and haven't seen them referenced anywhere else...

      @mediamogul

      That's a good idea in theory, but you're already running into major issues that could very well be isolated to the VM environment and never even be seen when using an actual Pi.

      I think your right. Hopefully I will get a RPi3 Model B for Xmas.

      Actually I didn't do anything really except on my PC went to look at the network, retropie showed up and without extra software for IP addresses etc, it's let me copy/paste to the rom folders and delete stuff I don't want.

      We expecting a bunch of setup but, nope, showed on my network and allowed full access.

      @NastyWays85

      I own the HiFiBerry aAmp and am trying to use it as an arcade speaker option. But I'm having no luck except for hearing the click sounds on the emulation station menu. Would you mind providing a detailed walk through how you solved this? Much appreciated!

      @suprjami said in No HDMI Sound:

      Edit /boot/config.txt and set hdmi_drive=2 to force HDMI audio out

      This always works. It's funny because I have two Sony HD TV's (both different models), on the newer model everything works fine but on the older model I always have to edit the config.txt file.

      @exon said:

      i thought hdmi=group need to be changed to 2 for monitors.

      It depends on the resolution you want to output.

      hdmi_group=1 has "TV" resolutions and refresh rates, and also sends the audio out the HDMI

      hdmi_group=2 has "monitor" resolutions and refresh rates, but does not send the audio out the HDMI

      If using a resolution in group 2, or if using a HDMI-to-VGA adapter which usually detects as a "monitor" in group 2, then you can force HDMI audio out with hdmi_drive=2

      Most TVs support common monitor resolutions as well (1024x768, 800x600, etc) and most monitors these days support at least the common TV resolutions (1080p, 720p, etc) so the only practical difference between "1080p 60Hz" and "1920x1080 60Hz" is what happens with the audio.

      There's a full list of all supported resolutions and refresh rates a little way down on this page: http://elinux.org/RPiconfig#Video

      Having same issues with games that have multiple tracks. Audio files having the issue end with .ape format.
      I have tried to turn them into .wav files. Doesn't make a difference.

      Have anyone solved this problem ?
