Okay so I got the following cheats for Final Fantasy 8 entered and uploaded into the files but when I activate them in the game menu the only one that actually works properly is the 255 AP and the Infinite Item Usage. All Items and All Cards doesn't work properly (All items gives me 100 potions and All Cards give me 127 of one card) I've checked multiple times and they are entered correctly, can someone please give me some insight as to why they aren't working? I threw the Master Code in there after the fact but it didn't change anything at all.

@DjGenEsIs Personally, I just use lr-fbalpha as my primary arcade emulator for the latest and sometimes better/faster emulation (compared to outdated emulators), with lr-mame2003plus and lr-mame2010 as my secondary emulators.

I can't say if all the games I'm running in lr-fbalpha are at full speed or have better emulation than what I might get in one of my secondaries, but I at least gave them a first pass and didn't notice any slowdown or problems, with the bonus of not having to put too much time into testing.

Here's my spreadsheet listing the games I've tested, though lack of a closely inspected second pass for the FBA ones does mean the list is deeply flawed.

Still, if I could, I'd use the latest libretro MAME. Just don't have the power for that on a Pi.

Hey guys, yes I like that one too thanks @Stuart2773 but it sounds too much like the snes classic menu as I have the original on my Nintendo build already. I do like the one @Clyde posted but only like the start of it, I might have a play and crop and loop before it all starts going crazy haha.

@mediamogul Oh, I didn't realize its from the same group. I am into romhacks and mods since last year and only see the good stuff. The first time I saw Nude Punch-Out was so hilarious. More then 20 years later, a lot happened and still is happening.

We had this kind of incidents reported before - that's why it's recommended you change the default password for the pi user. Unfortunately the best advice is to wipe clean the card and re-install the system.

This is a real shame. Hacking is healthy for the game community. It shows developers what can be done with their own technology. It was like when the original xbox came out and people were running kodi on it (xbmc back then), microsoft were like "wow, that's really cool, maybe we should build a media centre", and they did. But the trouble with that is that it becomes a victim of it's own success, and without big names behind it kodi is in trouble, just as emulation is in trouble.

@m2306 Lag really doesn't have to be an issue, but it can be with the wrong hdtv. On mine I can't notice any input lag. Maybe I would be able to notice it if I could play the game side by side, crt tv vs hdtv, but it's all good for me the way I've got it set up right now.

Here's an article with three different options: https://www.ostechnix.com/test-your-bash-skills-by-playing-command-line-games/

The last one can be played offline. I haven't tried them all, but they should be plenty to teach you the basics.
You should know when to stop though. The wargames site goes into some very advanced stuff which you'll never use. Most of the stuff you need will probably be in the first level.

Another possible origin involves its creator randomly combining the names of two items he saw from around the room.

I don't see it in any way different than other SBCs based on the RK3399 - there are countless ones released recently (like the Rock/Pine series). The XU4, despite being 'older' I think it has better support as far as RetroPie is concerned (i.e. emulators tested, graphic drivers, GPIO, etc.).
Do note that a better CPU and better graphics usually mean also you need a cooler/heatsink in these cases.

@mitu that was my first thought as well but the retropie user that's being used on my system is already part of those groups.

[Change scraping Source] Is there a similar option in Skyskraper? I have like 10% of missing images/game data and I'd like to leave my arcade machine "finished".

Yes, it has a similar option in the GUI.

    Found it, thanks

[How to manually add metadata for a game] Get the artwork manually and copy it on the system, then edit the gamelist.xml file where Emulationstation gets its information.

    Thanks, I'll check it out.

That's the one JesseBlue, I wasn't expecting to find them so fast, and with such a small description, thank you man.

@Nguyenthaonhi I use wireless Xbox 360 controllers. They are really cheap to pick up used and I use them with a USB wireless adapter. Very easy to configure. The stock dpad is crap but I did a very simple mod that essentially adds a thin plastic spacer to the back side of the dpad and it makes the dpad much tighter and more responsive.

Is it possible to install it on Retropie?

Through the retropie scripts i don't know, but you can build it the official way :

    git clone https://github.com/libretro/reicast-emulator.git
    cd reicast-emulator
    make platform=rpi3

After that you'll have to edit your emulationstation configuration to make use of the reicast_libretro.so you just created.

Just a heads up to anyone hoping to use this hack when you get round to patching it use the XKAS 0.6 from smwcentral linked in the patches readme and not the one from romhacking was having issues with my initial patch having garbled graphics due to opcode erros turns out the smwcentral one is an unnofficial fixed version which corrects this

thought id give folks a heads up as this is a fantastic hack
